If the bearing imploded, you need to start with the shaft....
Make sure it is straight, make sure there is no blueing at the bearing surface...along with the opposite end of the shaft.
The impeller probably made some undesirable contact into the wear area, so a close inspection of the suction piece would be good...
If the impeller shaft was allowed too much forward movement, the next area of concern would be the thrust bearing in the engine....Been there, done that, have the tee shirt...
