taking a pump apart

I would just like to know how hard it is to take a pump apart with out the tools cp sells for $350.  I just want to check to see what impeller it has in it and check the wear.  I am new to this and any help would be great.  I never thought ofit untill I read all the post on this site.  One more question I have looked at all the part numbers and they seam to be the same on JE (what I have) and the JG (what I want).  So what I am asking is can I swap the bowls fairly easy?  i wnat a split bowl cauz I want to be able to chang things like a droop snoot or a trim ring.  One more thing anyone know where I can buy a used bowl and nozzle housing?  thanks so much

There are lots of parts that pop up for a good price . I think the routing of the controls to the nozzle is where it gets alittle tricky between the JE and JG .There is another thread here recently that this very thing was discussed. Some very good insight was also thrown in .

They run in the same place don't they?  All the parts are the same part number even donw to the steer arm.

Spectra1 Disassembly (and reassemble for that matter) are relatively simple . We will happily "coach'and walk you thru anything on your boat you feel confortable doing Josh and I  provide free comprehensive tech help daily ,feel free to call if we can help Tom @JBP
re.  g,a b,c vs "e" with  the exception of most of the steering parts and the suction piece the majority of parts interchange between models

beerjet thanks I now see what you mean I don't know why I said JE I have a JC and that has been what I have been talking about not the E.  So what I am asking is the JC will interchange with the JG right?

I called today and they were a BIG help told me everything I needed to know.  I am going to buy a diverter from them as soon as I get my turbos back.

well worth the money here    so as for the other part of my qusetion is it hard to take the jet apart without the tools?  is there any that are realy worth buying?

Thanks for the kind words ! The jet can USUALLY be disassembled  with basic hand tools a torch a jaw puller a press and a 6 pack (optional) call if you need help !!Tom
