Whats wrong with the roost?

I stumbled along this guys video of his boat and thought "hey, I like a good rooster tail". But has he his bringing the roost up the bow just pops up and down....Whats wrong with his setup?

There is only one thing that would make your boat ride that shitty and that is letting Jim Rich work on it for you!

my experience is minimal, but what ive read is that several things can come into play...mainly issues with the bottom of the boat....lots of hook with a droop can do that.....his is pretty violent...he might have it wedged radically too.

Too much rooster tail not enuf speed......he's not going fast enuf to carry the bow so in essence its being leveraged up to a point and falling back down and so on.  If he could get the boat going a little faster he might do alot better. Possible problem is the boat is either too straight, too flat(side to side) etc..... Trim tabs would help, but then again so would bringing down the tail :screwy:

Heres a quick and dirty answer to the question "Whats wrong with the roost?"..............it's too high  ;).

That boat would probably hall ass and ride bitchen with the tail about 4'-5' off the water.    but if your gonna start shootin it that high you need to stablize the boat, some boats will take that much and ride just perfect(slow but stable).  Both of my boats will act like that in the mid RPM range with too much roost if i hit just a lil chop.
