Was wondering if anyone saw the accident yesterday near the ca. side . At approx 3:30 . two boats collided. one boat were people we know any info would be great .

Lake Havasu , the people we know have a 23 foot warlock collided with another bigger boat All 6 were ejected on the people we know boat and the driver of the other boat was killed . Thats all the info we know everyone is at havasu memorial hospital

Rescue divers recovered the body of a boater missing on Lake Havasu after a two-boat collision Saturday.

The recovery was announced at 6:01 p.m. Location was not specified.

The accident occurred near Blankenship Bend at about 3:30 p.m. Six people were reported injured in the crash along with the one missing boater.

The missing boater had reportedly been under water approximately 15 minutes at the time of the call.

Deputies from Mohave County and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Offices, along with Lake Havasu City Fire Department personnel, transported the six injured boaters to the north Windsor Beach launch ramp where they were treated by paramedics from the Havasu Fire and River Medical Ambulance Service, before being transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center.

None of the injuries were considered to be life threatening injuries.

Both boats were reportedly sinking when deputies arrived at the scene of the accident.

Yeah it is! Always sad to hear of someone losing their life just having a little fun.

My 14 year old son (Driving my old Beezer that burned and sank) Chewed a guys ass off at Bartlett Lake for cutting him off (I guess pretty blatently) sounds something like what you describe happened. (Guy was pulling a tube and was oblivious to what was going on around him)

RJ was smart enough to know that if you drop the reverse bucket and stand on it, the boat WILL stop and damn near immediately! I rolled in to see this guy standing on his swim deck of his like 26' Bayliner 20feet away screaming at my son (My son started the screaming match, not unfounded,  I found out later, (My boy, call the fokker out! couldn't be prouder!)) When I rolled in, My 90 pound son was standing on the drivers seat and all I heard from him was " Oh Yeah cumcatcher?, come on over here and I'll tear you a few new assholes retard") Direct Quote as I recall.

I Immediately tied off to the ol' Beezer and climbed outta the Moo onto the Beezer deck ready to swim over and beat the guy to death (I'm a little guy but I was pissed) when he sped away.

We have to wonder why licensing is not required on waterways............I Still don't know exactly what happened, but 3 of my friends were in the boat when it did and said they were there to back RJ up. One said he was gonna address it but RJ said let me handle this...  I'm so proud......)

I've done stupid newbie stuff, Keith, Nordie and Terry can attest, we all have. But own up to them. Sounds to me like a bunch of stupid errors here that ended someones life. We're smarter than that. I can very be proud that my son is not only aware of what he's doing and being polite, cosiderate, and giving wide berth driving a boat, but he's aware of what every other idiot is doing around him, and watching the wakes.

Had my son not known that, and I was not around, nor was anyone else in the boat familiar with protocol or jet boats at all, I guess the Bayliner woulda been cut in half basically.

Sorry to hear about the man who lost his life in that little "infraction". But it sounds to me like the operator of the boat that was hit didn't know what the hell was going on and simply reacted. The driver of the boat that was HIT though will have to reconcile that with himself that he did nothing wrong. And he did nothing wrong!

Ray, not trying to be a dick but please read my responses to the parts of your post I quoted above.

1. WTF was your (or anyone's) 14 YO son doing driving a 4000 pound powerboat? Totally irresponsible on your part.

2. You're damn lucky that it actually worked for the kid that time.

3. B/C if licensing was required to drive a boat, boat sales would drop, as would boat related recreation, too much money to be had on the tax end of the deal. On the other hand, if it was that way, maybe your son wouldn't have been driving the boat.

4. Good luck with that one, you pull that shit in a low freeboard boat and you're likely to put enough water over the transom to sink the fuc-ker, I would NOT recommend this to anyone, regardless of the situation.


Don't take this as a personal attack, just pointing out some of the everyday things that "boat people" do that are totally in completely retarded.

I'm pretty sure most places are the same, but I believe over 12 can operate boat as long as there is one person of age....#2 boaters safety course is required for anyone born after december 31st of 03...and is recommended to all for cheaper insurance rate...I'm guilty of not taking this course, but I should...I think everyone should...especially jet skiiers they are like the ignorant streetbike riders of the streets...I see idiots all day long on the lake and you know for a fact that they are from before 83...

In AZ over 12 with a passenger over 18, otherwise it's limited to 8HP, regardless of what the law says, common sense should prevail. I have never heard of any type of safety course being required, for anyone wether they were born in 63 or 93, I agree with the jet skiers, they are the root of an assload of problems.

You can stop a 19' low pro with the reverse bucket all day long without taking water over the transom, the water comes shooting over the bow if the speeds are too high though

I took my dad's Spetra out at Lake Shasta one evening just for a putt to the damn and this assclown came out of a cove (I think Bailey Cove) with a tuber on and literally cut us off by about 20' and never even saw us untill I slowed down to about 5 MPH (we were going about 45 MPH at the time), trust me the boat will slow like a MOFO with the bucket....

The great part was all 5 of us in the boat were yelling at him while flippin the bird.

I just got back from 9 days on Parker and am truly amazed that there aren't more deaths on the water. 

It is obvious that any knucklehead with a credit card can rent a wave runner and make everyone else a target.  I couldn't count how many people I saw going the wrong way on the river (mostly jet ski/wave runners but a hand full of full size boats also).

One guy camping about 3 spaces down from us hit an anchored boat on his wave runner (I think he was trying to turn around with his eyes closed  )

Everyone needs to keep there eyes open and be aware of whats going on around them, hope everyone has a safe boating season.
 

I too am very sorry to hear of the loss.  It does seem, and I'm not saying anything relating to their incident that some people go looking for trouble.

We were cruising about 45MPH down the lake when 3 lake lice came along side on our left slowly passing.   Just and I mean just after getting by they cut across our bow!   They were hardly 25 yards ahead when they did it.

I pulled up and gave them the finger as did my wife and the idiots tried spraying us.

Bad move,  that was like bring a knife to a gun fight.   

I probably should have just let them go to die another day but you know how that goes   

We gave them the nozzle "full up" after going by around 62mph.   I didn't give it to them in the face. I just put it close enough that they knew we could have.

Maybe they won't try spraying people again.

They turned around and left.  I hope with a lesson learned. 

1.  Don't cut boats off
2.  Don't try to spray people in a jet boat with a friken wave runner

This is a picture of my son's boat, it's identical to mine but about 150HP short till next season.
I don't think I would want to ride into that water blast
