Best part of Havasu for jets?

So other than leaving it on the trailer and in the parking lot, and parking it in the channel all day...where are the best places (most calm water) to run a jet? Or is it all pretty much the same?

ive always heard to go south by the dam. less people. plus all the people that wanna be seen go north. (copper canyon, sandbar) guaranteed to be more people up that way. i would stick to going south.

North Early AM till Noon and South rest of the day on a weekend ......Middle of the week isnt too bad

Yeah, I've been on havasu but never with my boat. Never been on the south part of the lake. Any idea of good spots to launch down there?

I'm only gonna be on havasu one day (Thursday) then going to Laughlin Fri-Sun so I'm hoping it'll be pretty calm. The forecast shows it being pretty windy that day tho : /

theres a free launch ramp next to havasu springs right by the dam. go south from havasu until you cross the bridge and then come across a gas station, hang a right, then another right. it'll look like you're going straight into the dam, but there will be a little road on the right that goes to the launch ramp. over by havasu springs.

its VERY calm in the mornings, but if the wind picks up it gets just as choppy as the rest of the lake. if theres wind hug the california side next to the mountains or go back and forth across the buoy line near the refuge.

like kaotyk said you can go to havasu springs, or if you dont wanna go as far you can launch at cattail and just drive the boat further south while on the water.

i go to havasu alot and i get on the water early so i can get off the water early... i usually go up river, towards the sand bar, and higher.... i stay off the lake as much as possible... after around 1 or 2 the wind picks up... so it gets choppy.... but that can change... some days its calm all day and some days its as bad as deadliest catch

I like hitting the ramp early during the week and heading up river. But there has been a lot of weeds lately.

laughlin is only good during the week. Way too many retards on jet skis on the weekend. but anywhere from south of laughlin to north of pirates is usually pretty good water for the smaller boats. once you get south of pirates/topock its big boat territory. As for as where to go once in havasu i would say you are probably better going south but its pretty choppy all thru there. if you head north the water has more of a current and stays more flat. there is just more traffic but those waves die down quickly just watch for wakes.

anyway just go where youwant and have fun!!

Last trip out to Laughlin we went from there to Havasu. Once we touched the lake we felt like a very small fish in a giant pond with all the big boats racing by, giant wakes and knowing that it can get extremely rough out there.

If I were to launch out of Havasu, I'd B-line it as close to the shore as possible and get back into the river where the water stays a bit smoother. We had the most fun inbetween the sandbar, through Topock and into Needles.

My fuel range is from Windser to sand bar. That's my closest shot to the river. Otherwise I hit the hwy to pirates and launch there. Still only a 30 mile drive from home so I can't complain.

If its not windy or busy site 6 is cool because its free. But if its windy you'll have some rough seas to make it to the river. But if you're just gonna hang in the channel just hug the shore and you'll be fine.

South end of the lake is very nice, you can launch from Cattail cove, three dunes is a bitchin place to chill for the day. Get pretty choppy if the wind comes up as stated, just go and have fun

X2 on three dunes. We have a house at the very end of the lake past the dam. We always go over to three dunes for the day and hang out. Got get there early on holiday weekends though cause the beach fills up fast

I have nothing of value to add, except it is doable to run havasu on a holiday weekend. I took my boat out last memorial weekend and Saturday launched from the marina and headed to steamboat cove. All I can say is, it was a rough ride heading there and a 100% white knuckle ride on the way back at sundown.

Went to Desert Storm 2014. Launched from Cattail Cove and it was pretty brutal on the lake with the wind plus a good number of boats on Havasu. The channel was the only refuge. Trailered to Needles and had a blast....definitely better going on the river with the calmer water.

If you're on the Lake launch early find a spot and stay late! The river from Laughlin to Topock is the place to be for running up and down.

I like to get up dawn, launch at Windsor and run up through the gorge when it's glass and empty. Get back by 9 or so when all of the fucktards are starting to launch, go home and grab the toon for the rest of the day on the lake.
