Looking to plan our first trip to the river for next month or so.  Hoping to find a condo / mobile home on the water with either a dock or at least a launch ramp right there.  Any input would be appreciated!  And if you know a rental owner in a good area, would love the contact info. thanks!

Personally, I love the Parker Strip. When I go, I usually rent at Riverland or Riverlodge. Riverland has fully furnished bungalows that sleep 4. They have pots, pans, linens, 2 tvs, radio, big deck, bbq, basically like your own trailer on the river. This camp has a decent market, and gas. The drawbacks: parking sucks, snooty owners, and you are next to the Seadoo Mecca that is Emerald Cove. I understand that Riverland has new managers and have corrected most of the issues coming from the complaint dept. I havn't been back since the last time. Nevertheless, its a nice place and worth it.
When I had a travel trailer, I stayed at Riverlodge. This spot is scenic and stunning. It is close to the dam and way more pet friendly. There is a 9 hole golf course if your into that. Their bungalows were pretty darn old. I rented a few over the years. They also are fully furnished like Riverland. They finally have been starting to replace them. Parking is excellent, the launch is excellent. There are tons of Donkeys walking around and a great place to ride a bicycle (yeah its that big). My kids have always had the most fun here. This is "the river" to them. There is a market but no gas. Drawbacks, you are pretty far from town, there is no cell reception (a plus in my book) and some of the beaches are rocky. Overall, this is my favorite place. Some of my close friends hate it, some adore it. To each his own.
My sister stays at JT in the keys. Pretty neat place. It is basically a very clean set of privately owned 'Motel 6' style rooms. It is located in the Moovalya Keys and you have your own dock. You just use the public launch and keep your float in the water the whole time. The entrance from the water is directly across from Riverland. They are located on the Az side, so you are right there close to town. Their prices are very reasonable. What most peole don't know is that the owners live close and are watching you. So if you party hardy, this may not be your place. Good luck! Have fun! Be safe!

Big bend has trailers right on the water and a small 7 unit strip of 2-3 bed units on the bluff. Launch right next to the trailers with a small cliff/rock to walk over to for a jump into the river. CA side up river away from most of the rough water. 760-663-3755

If you wanna try the lower river, Big River RV park has a park model for rent right near the beach.

Lower smoother Parker can get pretty rough dam near like the ocean.  If you stay up river from the bars it is not as bad.  I like to go to Parker on the off time of the year. Late October is nice if I go during the prime time my jet boat is back on tne trailer by 9:30 am.  I also have a 23' tritoon that not bad in the rough water but know where as fun as the jet boat.  Check out the post for the lower river I believe that will fit your needs better.  Try Parker mid October.
