i am down. mcintyre has a single wide trailer that i belive has 3 rooms in it for like 100$ a night. plus i have a trailer there and the hotel rooms in town are between 30 and 100 bucks depending on where you want to stay.
but ya that would be cool with me.

The weekend of August 21st is probably best for Tony and I. That is our 3 day weekend week.
I have stayed in the Hampton Inn in town it is around $100.00 a night. The Days Inn is $50.00 ish. The Holiday Inn is about $65.00 I think and the best bang for buck in my opinion. Remember that all of these are about 7 miles from the park so keep that in mind during the planning stages.
There is also the option of throwing Tents down. I know that is not popular with most of the Women folk but, an option none the less. Cost right around $10.00 per night.
There is room for tow in trailers/motor homes if that is an option for any of you. I think this is around $30.00 to $35.00 per night with full hook-ups and $20.00 or so without hook-ups.
We can try to reserve the one single wide they have there which Tony brought up earlier. I'm staying in that this weekend I hope so we will have more info on that on Monday.
Is the weekend of the 21st, 22nd and 23rd going to work for everyone? Like I said it's best for us but, that doesn't mean we can't do it on another weekend if we need to.

ABOUT THE RIVER ITSELF.
The Blythe area of the River is pretty nice. There are multiple beach spots right around where we camp and launch (Mcyntire Park) and a Cove (Goose Flats) that we pull in to where you are isolated from current and wind when one or both of those are an issue. We have always had a place to anchor/beach the boats and hang out even on the busiest of weekends. There are some jetskis running up and down that area not intolerable though. Probably about the same as was at Big River this past weekend.
There is never an issue with launching as far as water level goes. Obviously it is shallower at different times but, not really an issue for any of us now is it. If BKPLESH is planning to attend he will not have any problems at all. We have friends that run a wakeboard boat all day and go the same places we go with no problems. I like what I read in a post last week about water level. "if this site was called socal wakeboard boats, water level would be an issue but since it is called SOCAL JETBOATS! it's not really a problem for us!"
*EDIT* Can anyone bring a Karaoke machine? In order for Tony to put on a performance like at BR someone will have to bring one. There is not really an option as far as going to a bar after the days events. Typically everyone just stays in the park, walks around from trailer to trailer talking, drinking, and having fun.

Blythe has lots of place to stay. Many are completely satisfactory and most are all on one main street so you can pick one as you roll in. The campground is nice. Limited showers but clean. Lots of locals show up on weekends as it is only minutes out of town.

I just checked the schedule for the I10 Speedway in Blythe and they won't start there winter series until late Sept., so unless there is a fishing tournament that weekend the motels should be cheep & empty.
I'll throw my name in the hat, but won't know for sure for a little while ;D

ya from what i have heard most of the hotels are boat friendly. it is a 6 mile farm road from intake blvd exit on the 10 frwy. not hard at all. there are quite a few hotels in blythe and you can get them cheap.
the camp ground is nice. its all grass. spots for full hookup motorhomes or just dry camping. tents camp on a grass field so there is no rocks. the bathrooms are clean and have nice showers and there is gas at the marina and a stocked store.
never a big line at the ramp maybe 2 boats at the most in your way.
i hope i have answered most of the questions. as for the hotels jimmy would be the guy to ask because he is lagging ass on buying a trailer down there.

My daughter is 12 as well. That is good to know there will be a few other young ladies around her age to hang out with. She loves the river even if she had to hang out with the old man the whole time, she will love having someone else out there to hang out with.

HOTELS,
I posted in the first couple posts about the hotels so you can read some about it there. Basically this is what it comes down to.
The Days Inn = Cheap, Dog Friendly, Boat parking in back if not room in front decent AC in rooms
The Holiday Inn = Mid range on price, No pets, No boat Parking really, Pretty nice rooms with great AC. (This is where I like to stay when we dont have dogs)
The Hampton Inn = Kinda Pricey, Not sure about dogs, Some boat parking, really decent rooms great AC.

RV hook-ups should not be a problem for you. I am 99% sure all of the hook-up spots are grass so It will be pretty nice. Plus you will have room to park the boat next to the RV.

I will be out that weekend most likely but I will be staying on the AZ side up river. Call out a meeting time and place on the water. Goose flats is a good place but at the end of the summerthe weeds get nasty. I go to the sandbar just up from the I-10 bridge and the island just south of Goose.

I never got a chance to look at it this weekend. It was being used until Friday evening and they wouldn't let us rent it after the other people left. They wanted to make sure it was cleaned all the way out first. The price is 120.00 a night. 760-922-8205 is the number to the park. I am guessing the double wide trailer that they rent down there is what you are reffering to. Let me know if you need me to find out anything else for you.

Rv spots, make sure you tell em if you need a 50 amp hookup. They have 30 and 50 amp.
When it gets closer, maybe lets plan a dinner. We can put a few tables in the grass alley and bring the bbq's out.

There is nothing wrong with a mead trip at all. I am in the let's do both camp. This Blythe trip has been on the board for a while now. I would hate for someone to put a Mead thing together that same weekend and make people choose where they want to go. I will be at Blythe but, I am not that cool (and neither are you Tony) so people will probably choose Mead over me! Please don't do that to me guys.

I'm thinkin of going down to Parker during the week before Blythe to hang w/ Ralph and family, maybe hioy Blythe that saturday. We're always ready to do the lake. I have only seen one all season and that was the week before Memorial day and he was just cruising by. I think he was actually a Game Warden judging by his uniform and boat. Not sure though. No real problems with cops though that I have experienced.

I think you should jump in to the sand toy arena Ray. I damn sure am. I have my eye on a couple of buggies right now. I'm actually sending Nick a link to one to see what he thinks about it. I can't wait for Glamis season. This has been a great Boat season so far too.
You would love it Ray. It's just like the River except in the desert (obviously). Still lots of horsepower in bad azz machines running around with a few beers tilted back in the evening.

Yeah RIGHT! Looked at a buggie a couple weeks ago at a place that builds them, where I was buying Blower Pistons from. Yeah, they had one in there, 5 seater, 8-71 Blown LS7 (new one, small block), tiptronic transaxle (Push button up/down), more shocks than I've seen on a vehicle in my life, yeah $160,000!
Don't think THAT is in my budget! I got enough outflow on these water crawlers.
Now an old 1600 VW engine in a tube chassis? Yeah I can do that! But apparently not the way it's done these days, lol.

People run those ALL day long out there. They are usually the ones running up and down the dunes while the big Horsepower machines (like the one you saw) are sitting on the trailer broken down after a few hours. Nick can build you a chassis. No peer pressure or anything.

Unfortunately Nick, it does. If I can scrub up some cash, I will be there, but at 750 miles round trip, plus 2 days worth of food, beer, fuel, hotel, it's just not in the cards, my wife says I have to pay bills first :screwy:
