FOR SALE - - 1973 Suzuki TM400 Cyclone
« on: October 15, 2015, 02:37:40 PM »
This is a 1973 TM400 Cyclone that has all the period correct killer stuff done to it. This bike is almost identical to the bike Roger De Coster was sawing guys off on at the World Championship Grand Prix circa 1971-1979.. It has Preston Petty front and back fenders, Mikuni carb, Works Performance rear shocks (the Rolls Royce of shocks back in the day) to allow for more rear travel Works installed a different swing arm and moved the top shock mount forward. Not sure what all has been done to the internals of the motor (if any). I do know that it runs and runs well!! The original down pipe exhaust on it sounds pretty radical too.

All the plastics are good
Original bars, original levers, original rims all in good condition
The original tank that is on the bike has NO DENTS and does not leak.
The original seat has NO tears and the foam is STILL GOOD

A true period correct survivor

The bike also comes with a front handlebar hoop stand, a rear axle stand, a desert tank, and a box full of extra parts for the bike!

THIS THING IS A FULL ON BARN FIND!!!

Not a real desirable bike to race, but it would make a great start for a quality stock restoration.   They didn't call them The Widowmaker for nothing.  A 125 like power and in a open class motor with short wheelbase is not really user friendly as they say.  That is clearly not a stock pipe, but maybe that is a good thing if it helps mellow the power hit.
If you are on Facebook,  try Mark's Vintage Swampmeet or Vintage Offroad Motorcycle Marketplace.  I saw one a while back go forabout $2000 but it was near perfect.  Good luck with the sale.

Members of the Cult of Hodaka have taken things to amazing extremes.  In today's vintage 100/125cc racing they are nothing to be dismissed lightly.  Them fellas up in Oregon have way too much time and talent on their hands.
