hi again thanks again for the others that helped with rack and pinion, my next question is, is there another way to hook the steering or is the rack and pinion my only option.
next question. The motor is a stock 455 with a eldlebrock manifold and edelbrock carb, what oil weight and what kind should of oil to run that is reliable.

yes i have took a piece of wire ran it from the battery to the starter and made sure it was working, the starter is making the clicking sound

okay i did the steps that u had told me to try
1. disconnected all spark plugs and wire
2. cranked engine over by the hermanic balancer once around smooth
then tried to crank over and same clicking sound
then went try the grounds all grounds okay and connected
took wire from battery to starter and just made the mechanical clicking sound
all gauges are on
do this tell me maybe my battery is not cranking enough output

whats up guys have a question , just purchased a 1975 tahiti 455. I crank the motor over the only sound is some what of a loud clicking noise, the belt that is hooked to the alternator and the pulley to the mainshaft pulley does not move at all nor is there any cranking for the starter , does any body have any insight on this problem.

hello i have a just bought a 1975 tahiti from a buddy the steering would not turn at all, i took off the rack and pinion and turns out its bad, what is the cheapest way and what kind of rack and pinion to get thank any help would be awesome
