hey guys, im back to try again........ i put a new 461 bbc with small dome pistons and closed chamber heads. so compression is a we bit higher. my issue is that i cant find a starter to role the motor over without grinding on the flywheel. i pulled the starter and tested it, put a new one in and non of them work..... im at a loss! anyone know of a good starter to get other than running to napa or anywhere else?

The advance has to be working, it revs like it should without a load on it. Or am I wrong?

Well I had the motor rebuilt, and swapped my open chamber heads to my closed, and took the 750 off and threw on a 650 due to a rebuild on the 750. It revs great when its not hooked to the jet and even when its hooked up, but when its hooked to the jet and running across the lake she wont go anywhere past 3k. It's odd because the motor came out of my v drive with everything but the closed chamber heads on it. It's got an hei ignition, and mechanical fuel pump. If ya need more info please ask, I'm at a loss and any ideas are greatly appreciated. I'm gonna check timing and fuel tomorrow.

well i want to repaint it solid white and then redo the floor, the passenger side by the tank is flexin a little and the fiberglass is thin....... i dont know boss, your the master! haha
