What's the best way to connect a wooden walkway ramp to the ground so it can flex with changing river levels.??  I'm building steps and walkway over a steep slope to connect to a Ramp that leads to the docks, I'm wondering how to connect it? I need it to disconnect somewhat easy, Need to take it out during winter ice, Also needs to be pretty heavy duty cause the ramp will be 15 feet long and 4 feet wide so it's pretty heavy. I'm thinking some steel pipe concreted into the ground with some kind of pin set up?? Any idea's? Pic's?  Thanks... Roy

I always liked snakes BUT not when they are eating my pets and more importantly when they are eating our baby pets that Sandy has been raising  But I realized today that Sandy is more concerned about Distance from her bed then distance from her baby birds, This is how I figured this out today..  

It's hot early here, hi 80's, snakes get active here first heat spell, Been having Birmingham Roller Pigeons disappearing from inside the Pigeon coop, Had a haunch, today I saw the pigeons freaking out in there outside cage, almost all our out in it, the outside coop connects onto the inside, in other words, there freaking to get out. I quickly walk towards the barn to look inside, On my way there is a water pail on the side of the driveway with the garden hose in it as i walked past the hose it coiled and I screamed like a girl, was a 4 foot black snake drinking from the pail of water we leave there for the peacocks and chickens that roam free, Well after a few seconds calming down I see the pigeons are still freaking out so I walk into the barn and sure enough there's a solid 5 footer resting on the Pigeons main row of nesting boxes stretched out with a giant lump a third of the way down from it's head. I knew it was the size of the white and black almost full size "Squekker" (name for fledgling pigeons) That Sandy was just bragging about because its from our best rolling best looking pair and we had hi hopes for. I ran for the camera, Sandy, My hook and gloves.

Ran into the house say to Sandy "Your not going to bummed by the snake drinking the fresh water you just changed but your going to be pissed about the pigeon the snake in the barn just eat" I won't repeat what my Lady said but you get an idea in the pic of her standing in front of the box on the quad that the snake is in.      on how she felt about it.

I thought for sure she would want me to catch and release it up the river cottage like we have before but when I suggested it she asked "The same place you left the others go?" Yes I say , In the hole in the big stump right outside the cottage, well "Don't you think thats a little close to our beds up there" I lol at say it's outside and on the other side of the building, "That's still to close" so Where do you want it, Well again refer to pics, she had me drive it to the very end of our property here, down over the hill on the other side of the creek so it would still be safe on our property but far enough from her bed and if it comes back it will go back to the barn and not lost and end up in her cottage bed, well I'm still lol and love her for her caring but safe goofy ass way she lives and let's live. Just had to share the story of part of my day. RR

My hull is stripped, No Engine, No Pump, No Interior except steering wheel and gauges. I need/want to flip it over upside down to fix a gouge and wet-sand, wax buff.

QUESTION: Will "2" of the three point loops hold the empty hull, Can I leave all weight off one of the back two hanging/hauling tie down loops for a second/minute or so well I juggle it over well hanging in a garage with large nylon straps?, I plan on putting rimless tires under it incase it falls but I still don't want a piece come ripping out and falling.

I'm thinking about going with these seats http://www.corbeau.com/products/suspension_seats/baja_ultra/   I can get 2 of these and the 42" Baja Bench seat http://www.corbeau.com/products/suspension_seats/42inch_baja_bench/  grey cloth/grey vinyl and enough matching material to do the side panels for about a 1,000 bucks, All matching new front and rear suspension seats, plus new side panels for about a grand where can I do better?...    Roy.

I'm about to start epoxying in my stringers with West Marine Epoxy and I would like to epoxy them into place and let them set and harden so they don't move around when I start reinforcing layers of fiberglass, Directions say if it sets during layering i just need to sand the new surface before reapplying a new started layer. I want to let it set before the first layer and I read and heard and remember from years ago that restarting can make bubbles from temperature differences caused from the heat when curing. So my question is.

Can I epoxy my stringers to the floor on all contact points only, using no covering material, flair the seams, Let dry/set/harden over night, Then the next day cover all the wood with all the layers of fiberglass woven roving, mat and cloth that i will be using? With Out any curing problems? Like cracks or bubbles or warping from heat changes?

And does anyone have a preferred method of layers, Looks like the factory put down woven roving first, then mat then cloth, I'm thinking Two layers of those 3 in that order??
