The No Wake Zone / Lazy Harry's marina finished w/pics
« on: December 15, 2012, 06:05:15 PM »
A lot of you know how bad and gross the marina is at lazy harrys marina (sunshine marina). They are fixing the problem by installing four 42 inch pipes from the river flowing into the marina to prevent the stagnant water and tall grass from growing. The pipes will begin flowing at 4 units realeasing from the dam. maximum release from the dam is 5 units. you will only see 4-5 units in summertime. They started it about 1-2 months ago. Here some pics.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Thoughts on filtermag....?
« on: June 09, 2012, 01:00:28 PM »
Does anyone run those filtermag magnets on their boats? Was looking at them and they seem like a pretty worthwhile investment. What do you guys think? Or if anyone runs one feel free to school me on them.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Fuel pressure problems....
« on: April 21, 2012, 07:30:06 PM »
I have a mechanical Holley fuel pump feeding a 750 double pumper Holley. I have an inline gauge on the fuel rail and at idle it reads 10-12 psi. Isn't it supposed to be more like 6-7 psi? I won't idle and I'm assuming this is why. Too much pressure. Should I put a fuel pressure regulator on it? And if so which one?

I was looking at this one. Whatcha think? Thanks.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / to gasket or not to gasket. logs, BBC.
« on: August 23, 2011, 09:53:47 PM »
ok so i have read that running a gasket will somehow cause the logs to warp and in turn have an exhaust leak. what do you guys have to say about the subject? they are hardin logs on a BBC. just run a gasket? run a gasket with rtv on both sides? or just use rtv and no gasket? and if so...what kind of rtv?

WTB / WTB: bbc 10qt oil pan.
« on: August 08, 2011, 07:37:48 PM »
Want to buy a BBC mk IV 10qt pan. With pickup, windage tray. Preferring a pan that the windage tray bolts into. Not the one that the windage tray bolts onto main caps.  Please reply with brand of pan, condition of pan, condition of parts, price, and possibly pics. Thanks.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / bilge pumps
« on: July 04, 2011, 10:21:02 AM »
What's everyone running for bilge pumps? Where are your water dumps from the bilge pump? I have a rule 500 gph on a switch on my dash and was thinking about switching to an automatic 750 gph. Would it wire up the same with the existing wires to my current pump? Does anyone have one of these self contained automatic bilge pumps?  I'm not talking about the separate float switch. Just the ones where its all in the pump. The more I think about it the more I think I should just leave it alone. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Interior / bow foam removal
« on: May 19, 2011, 08:14:46 PM »
As many of you know i have a 19ft. Hallett Bubbledeck. My question is about the foam in the bow of my boat. Whether to remove it or not. I really want to remove it so i have a place for storage (lifejackets, horseshoes, first-aid, etc...) right now i have no place for storage. What is your guys opinion on doing this? is it safe to do so? Will it ruin the ridgidity of the bow? And lastly what methods would you guys use to remove the foam? Thanks.

« on: February 25, 2011, 11:00:27 PM »
A friend sent this to me, dont know who this is but damn.........i woulda sh*t a brick if a friggin mountain lion was that close to me.

"There I was alone when I downed this elk in ND. I was using my cameras timer attached to my shooting stick to give me enough time to get into the picture. I knew there were lots of cats in the area but I had no idea they would come so close to people. He had to be within 10 feet of me and I didn't even know it. I about crapped my pants when I looked at the pictures the next morning and saw he was there."
