I'm really tossed up about this engine. Looks just like what I want to build for this other blower I have!Pistons are forged and so is the crank. It is a 4 bolt main.
Ok, Find out if forged pistons, crank and 4 bolt. So I can torture myself some more........

Just out of curiosity....Why do you have it listed on another site for $500 more?Discount for the real jet boaters. $3500 is my bottom line. Left room to wiggle on other sites.
Looks like a solid build, but why parked since '05?Not sure on the heads but if your are interested I can call Clay Smith and ask. Firm on price for now as I just listed it.
4 bolt bottom I would assume. What heads and where is it and how firm are you?
Ray
Invoice says March 01 does that not make it 9 seasonsBoat it came out of last saturday has been parked since 2005.
No, I am saying a complete running boat that someone could go boating with is worth more than a engineless hull that needs a bunch of work and a running engine no one can test fire...Besides, you originally wanted $8500 for the boat, right?Of coarse I agree it would have made more since to sell them together. But like I said, we got lazy. If i can get 3500 for the motor, I will be at what was our bottom line for the complete package. 10G. Did I mention winter sux.
A complete Boat is always worth more together than separate...I never understood why so many boats get sold sans motor, makes no sense to me...
I do however think your big block is worth more than $3500, but I didn't say it out loud...(sorry Dave)...

Are you sayin the motor is worth $8500
I guess what I am trying to say is "Turn key in your old boat", Because if that is the case, I would have fixed the steering cable and had it detailed and asked the $12K that Marcsrollin was talking about earlier...![]()

Soooooo, Why did you split them up?To lazy to install steering cable and clean fuel system.
I will never figure this one out....
I give up.

Turn key means something different to you than it does to me....I am the biggest scrounger in the universe when it comes to parts (ask Proppy)...

What did you end up getting out of her???$6500 and you could have eaten off this boat also.
I saw a 1994 21' Eliminator open bow this morning in Monterey with a hurt (real hurt) 502 BBC, $3100 is all he could get.....
