Very nice!!! MY buddy has an '87 Advantage w/ a BBC and other mods and runs 79 MPH all day. That hull is the same as the Rogers Bonneville. Is your dad's an 18' or 19' For some reason I thought Advantage only made an 18' but I could be wrong.

Just outta curiosity...why is the engine out of you boat? Did you do a rebuild on it?

Selling this dizzy and coil. This stuff came on  my boat. Last year I installed new electronics in the dizzy and I also replaced the cap & rotor. I have some bushings and springs for the advance. I had my boat out 17 times last summer with zero issues. Recently switched to HEI so I have no need. I don't know if this is a "marine" version or not. The distributor has some rust in it and in no way, shape or form does it effect the performance. $175.00 + shipping from 91506 + 3% paypal. Money order is ok.

My friend has the Comp Xtreme marine cam in his BBC and that engine runs hard. If you call ISKY cams and ask for their marine department, they will be more than happy to help you choose a cam. I went this route and I'm glad I did. Just be prepared to answer alot of questions about your jet and engine build.

Phase 2 began a few weeks ago. Got a late start because we had a baby in November. Started off by doing a leak down and compression test on the engine. It passed with flying colors so an engine rebuild is no longer in the plans. As far as the motor goes, I'm still gonna go ahead and swap out the 5 1/2 quart oil pan for a 10 quart pan. While I'm down there I'll probably replace the oil pump. I'm also thinking about maybe doing roller rockers and new valve springs. The exhaust logs were cracked at the flanges and way too restrictive so I got a set of Bassett OT headers and they are still at the chromers. When I removed the thru transom tips I discovered that the left tip was installed incorrectly and the wood on the inner part of the transom is in pretty bad shape from the tip leaking water. So instead of installing block off plates, I'm taking the boat down to Havasu on 02/19 to have the transom exhaust holes filled as well as the swimstep holes filled and the entire tansom gelcoated. The swimsteps were in pretty ruff shape and kinda cheap looking. I still haven't decided if I'm gonna put steps back on the boat or not. The boat came with a stereo which I never used even once. So I removed it, the amp, xm module and all associated wiring. While the boat is in Havasu I'll go ahead and have the radio hole in the dash filled in as well. I need to pull the gauges inorder to have the dash repaired so I went ahead and bought a new set of guages and angled bezels to give the boat a bit of a more updated look. Last time I took the boat out, the MSD box took a shit on me and left me stranded. So I went ahead and removed it along with the coil and all the wiring and I bought an HEI distributor. That's all for now. Here are a few pics.

I think he is talking about "MadSkills" Nicks 180 degree headers.  They make it sound like it's spinning 12000rpm.

Nicks boat almost sounds like an Indy or Formula One car with those headers.

I have mine set up just like Wog's but you use the first gate valve to adjust engine temp, and the second gate valve (on the dump line) to help regulate when the water starts flowing into the headers.  You don't want water flowing into the headers below 1800-2000rpm. 

More back pressure=lower rpm,   less back pressure=higher rpm.

You're confusing me a bit when you call the line that supplies the water to the headers as a dump line. I thought the dump line was the line that removed excess water from the system? As far as below 1800-200 rpm goes, I don't want any water thru the headers at all?

I picked up some used Bassett OT headers and a T valve 2 months ago and the headers are currently at the chrome shop. Going tomorrow to pick up some lines and fittings. I'm in the process of trying to sketch out on paper how to plumb these things and I am going  I've searched old threads on this forum and others and every thread has different answers.  My boat currently does not have a tstat and I am not sure if I need to run one. Also, I'm having trouble figuring out if I need one or two water dumps. What temp is the water coming out of the water dump(s)? Do I need some kind of pressure regulator that is set at a certain pressure inorder to avoid blowing head gaskets? How many valves do I need before the headers inorder to regulate water volume? Some say 1 (near the jet) and some say 2 (1 near the jet and another by the drivers seat) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I saw this boat on another forum and it looks like the guuy knows what he has and it sounds like he wants alot. If I recall he hasn't stated a price. A former employee of Rogers chimed in and it sounds like this may have been one of Rogers first boats. Whether or not that adds to the value is unknown. In this day in age I don't think that boat would be doable in any of our local lakes or the river w/ all the wake boarding and lake lice. My Rogers is a 19' and has full stringers and sometimes the chop is too bad. I don't even wanna know what a 16' w/ no stringers would be like. That boat would be better off w/ a classic jet boat collector who would restore it and never take it out, or if there was such a thing as a classic jet boat museum ith belongs there. Just my 0.02
