It did run hard though.
I never gps'd either but for a resto project it should run perfect.
I wanna say offy designed it with street rod/jet boats in mind.

Yea it was designed for street rods/boats. But it was also designed with TWO carbs on top of it. When I put one on my 460, it lost RPM compaired to the stock cast iron Ford intake. Once I switched to the duel 4 barrel top, it finally gained RPM over the stock intake.
Sure you can run one if your trying to duplicate a look for a resto, no doubt about that. But (IMO) just about anything else you try on there will work better.



Finally tracked it down to the intake, yea, the intake. It was an EGR intake with a plate over the EGR ports. Whoever made the block off plate used a piece of material that had a small hole in it, so they threaded a screw into the plate, the screw fell out and caused the leak.
