Is it just me or is a staggered stack fuely set up on a BBC just the sexiest thing on a motor? Almost better than a huffer in badazz factor. Saw a really sick picklefork jet saturday running one and it sounded sooooo good. Thing was cruising along about 30mph and sounded like it was only spinnin 2000rpm. He romped on it once and I was like shwing!!! Wish I could have gotten a pic of it!

I have to disagree with the LS6 making 550 real world HP. Even watching Horsepower TV, headers,ignition,exhust,intake,etc. is good for about 35HP and costs ($1600) Im sorry but an extra 100HP is hard to swallow with a couple bolt-ons.

I was saying that 550 real hp is HARD to get. In the 60's they rated them without alternator, water pump, a/c, smog pump, or any other accessories. With SAE net formula, they have those accessories hooked up when the factory gives out ratings. No way do I think a LS6 with just a cam and intake swap is going to make 550. The LS6 not only had a good cam to begin with, it also had a pretty good dual plane intake and rectangular port heads that flowed pretty good out of the box. It might be able to with all the right parts such as roller cam, port work, msd ign, step headers, single plane intake, etc. But then it would make all that power in the upper rpm range, not really a good jet boat motor. You would have to really do your homework to get to that. Most stock boat 454's are oval port motors and are closer to make around 350hp.

Hearing those kinds of people talk helps you know when to raise the bs flag. I got a bone stock 350 that makes 800hp with a 2 barrel and cast iron exhausts and all I had to do was add some octane booster to my tank and put in some of those four pronged spark plugs. I'm running 8 flat in the quarter with it in my 67 caprice and a powerglide all original numbers matching! and yes it came with a factory 350 in 67 so mine is a one of a kind worth millions.....  yeah I've heard those guys too!!!

I'm so glad I moved to Arizona, divorce much shorter here. If both parties are cool, you can be done in 90 days. Took me 6 months because I had a hell of a time getting an address to serve her. This is number 2 for me. First one took a year because I lived in Calif back then. First time was 19 & 17 when we got married. 16 years later we were very different people so that's how that one went down. Second time, hooked up with a psycho and didn't see through her bs until it was too late. I sucked it and tried to make it work. But then she did me a favor by having an affair with a dude she met in a religeous chat room lol. I grew a pair and kicked her out. Okay so it wasn't a big pair, I helped her move out lol Anyway, only lasted 3 years.

Gf and I wanna go up (at least for the saturday). I have no idea how to get there, or where to launch from. Can't afford a room, gas to get there is gonna kick my azz. Money is tight right now. But definitely want to meet all of you!!! 

Last summer I was heading up river to Picacho and noticed the oil pressure dropping. I look back and smoke is pouring out of the breathers. Before I can turn her around, I start getting the knocking noises. I hoped I could limp her back home when the motor seized with a loud metalic thunk. I looked around and saw a hole in the side of the pan and knew we're done. Up river and realize no paddle. I'm screwed. Just then the river patrol rounds the bend and I flag him down. He explains that he can't tow me because they got sued last year over scratched gel coat!!! He offered to call someone (including tow service). I said if I had a paddle I'd be ok. He tosses me his. I tell him I'll leave it at Fisher's for him and he said no, just keep it!. So I start paddling. I paddled about 30 mins as boat after boat pass us by. Then this dude in a blue Ultra stops and offers to tow us in. He said he would tow us as far as he could since he was almost out of fuel. We got to within 2 miles from Fishers and pulled over on a sandbar. His engine was sputtering. He was going to go get some gas and come back. I unhooked my fuel line and flipped the pump switch and filled his tank up. Gave him some cold beer and we were ready to go. Towed us in. I offered him cash for towing us and he refused. Too cool. We thanked him told him we owe him some more cold ones sometime!!!
