There is one weekend pull threw spot that just came open. Let me know by tonight if anybody here on the boards wants it. Or it goes to the first one in line.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Carb ? Need help
« on: September 22, 2014, 11:04:54 AM »

I have a stock Hardin Marine 454 with peanut heads. For a Holley 750 street avenger with vacuum sec and electric chock. Would this be a good carb to put on my boat. Any input would be nice.

750 or 850 is fine. I would go with manual secondary's. No choke 👍👍👍

I don't understand while people would tow at 80 trying to get home, but sometimes you just have to get to the river  ;)
Haha exactly 👍🚗🚤💨💨💨💨

The No Wake Zone / whats purpose for a dolly trailer?
« on: September 21, 2014, 10:17:07 AM »
so ive tried looking around....i see a many pics.  no explanation.  looks similar to a normal trailer with really small wheels and maybe narrower.
with those little wheels....doesnt look like you could do highway speed....safely.  not stating a fact, i have no idea what those little guys are rated for.

so whats the point of the dolly trailer?
Exactly what everybody else said. I can tow my dolly just as far and any road trailer, and it tows much better. Also, it's so nice not to have too lean over fenders to work on the boat.

Last time I towed the boat from home to the river on the dolly I stoped right before the hill on the 10, bearings were I've cold ????!!!!🙀🐣👍🚤💨💦💦💦

Boat Racing / Lucas oil cuts Havasu down to 1000ft
« on: September 19, 2014, 10:07:15 AM »
Got the word from Lucas oil this morning that they will be cutting the Havasu race to 1000ft. I am happy about it. The track really gets choppy at the end. This will be the last race in Havasu, can't wait till were racing in Parker next year. The venue is cool, but the weather always gets us at Havasu.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Mini Starter
« on: September 15, 2014, 08:40:43 PM »
Would you have the same problem with most starters?  Not looking to pull the motor his week.
On a gulwing you have way more room to get a starter out than a tunnel. you should be fine. have it rebuilt or buy a new one.

No issues with rail kit clearance with that starter?

Sent from my XT1080 using SoCal Jet Boats mobile app

Nope, but i have to pull the motor to get it out. its less and 1/4 inch away from the tunnel.

« on: September 15, 2014, 01:25:17 PM »

I have a Jegs pro mini starter and one out of ten times it won't engage hot or cold.  When it does it you can't  pry the gear out.  If I hit the starter a bunch of times it will work again.  I pulled the starter out and took it to a starter shop and they could not find anything wrong.  Works 90% of the time anyone ever had this problem.

I had the same problem with a summet racing starter. Tossed it in the trash and got a MSD high torque.

The No Wake Zone / Re: How to polish???
« on: September 14, 2014, 03:15:38 PM »

Embee is good, sometimes. Heard a lot of smaller jobs go to shit. Long turn around times, lost parts, mega high pricing etc. then again that's just hearsay. I did call about ceramic coating my headers, $250 to strip and $500 to coat. Guess I didn't talk to the right guy. But other then that, the company is doing something right...

Sent with my Fingers
Sounds like somebody got a foot to the ass on that one. Shouldnt cost more that 300. Talk to owner Jeff and let him know it's for a boat deal. He will hook you up!

Boat Showcase / Re: Anyone know the History of this PlaceCraft?
« on: September 11, 2014, 02:31:43 PM »
It's a Gen 2, All Rigging is Gold Anno and a lot of it is 1 off custom, Calgo Steering, R Intake, Capped, Gel Graphix continue on to the bottom of the hull, Balsa Checker floors with African Mahogany inlays throughout, Trailer has 13" Westerns on it and has Blown Gas Jet hand painted on it. Has a Gold Plate on top of the pump extension for the cleanout that has a long prayer engraved in it that has something to do with flying safely, supposedly had a blown hemi that Kuhl and Mickey Thompson had a hand in building in it. Looks like it hasn't seen much time on the water at all since it was laid up in 1979 HIN starts with PCJ and ends with 79.
Keep in mind that it is very dusty and the colors are way more vibrant then they appear in the pic and it is the original gel.

I will get more pics of it next week, any info would be appreciated thanks guys!

I would get ahold of Ralph Mills. He knows a ton about these boats. if it was a blown gas jet he would know it.
