I never drink when I'm away from home. Seen too many accidents. Plus I carry my .45 when we go out. Like to have it for snakes (the slithering kind and the two legged version lol).

When you fold it down, does it go back and does it clear the motor?  Looks good!!!
I can lay forward on the bubble deck or fold rear and it rest on my scoop. I need to get those support poles from Overton's that hold it up off the motor. But works good for now. Just have to polish my scoop more lol.

Water was a little high, pretty cold too! But the weather was nice and hot so the cold water felt good. I hear ya on headers and interior. My boat's a work in progress. Doing little bit at a time. Got a reliable motor and pump, everything else can wait. Still feel pretty redneck running around in those seats. Plus they beat the crap out of you in rough water lol. Gonna do seats in July and hopefully paint this winter. Try to get some coated headers sometime in between. I want glass seats from Luckie Stiff, but Momma wants traditional jet boat upholstery. Traditional is way expensive, even in Mexico! Fiberglass is much tougher and lighter. So we'll see what happens!

Went out today from Fisher's, found a sweet sandbar and kicked it. Took some pics too! I love the new bimini. It was easy to put together and install. You can see I need to do something about those seats and headers!!! In time!

pulled it out of the box and checked to make sure everything was there. Everything is cool, gonna put it together tomorrow afternoon. Might go try it out on Sunday!!! Sharkskin and Sunbrella made by same company. Sunbrella is a heavier canvas type material. They both come with 5 year warranty and both come with the matching storage boot. Did you call Overton's yet? Use that catalog code to get free shipping. Then 2nd day is only 4.99 extra!!!

Talked to Rhino Lining in Phoenix, they said they sure can. But they have to shoot it during winter time since the heat makes the stuff dry in 7 seconds. He said in the winter time they can make it smooth as glass. I'm going to email some pics to get an estimate. We'll see what they say.

The No Wake Zone / Saw 3 Boats today headin East
« on: May 15, 2008, 05:38:34 PM »
Saw 3 jet boats heading east on I8 on my way home from work today. A daycruiser, a v bottom and a really sweet looking Ultra tunnel (white with blue/purple graphics). I saw them and I was thinkin I can't wait for memorial day!!!

1089
I've heard they make a smooth coating used in hot rod type applications such as undercoating. I'm actually thinking of doing the outer hull and deck. Maybe even flooring and bilge too.

I'm watching close because I need to do mine this winter when I get mine painted. I helped my dad do our boat growing up and I remember using an outdoor loop carpet and some 3M spray glue. But I don't remember much else. And I'm also wondering how that will hold up down here with all the heat.

I hear ya. Gas is getting crazy!!! I'm only 30 mins from Fisher's or I wouldn't have gas money for boat lol.

1093
I heard someone say that you could use a bed liner coating (smooth finish obviously) instead of painting or gel coating your hull. What are pros and cons? I was planning to paint my beast this coming winter and actually found a smokin deal, but I may reconsider if there are enough pros to bed liner coatings.

I'll be launching out of martinez and will be at the second sand bar all three days. Going out first thing in the morning to buy a trailer off a guy at fishers so i'll have a/c for memorial day weekend. wWe should meet up and have a beer or twelve.
Too many party animals at the 1st two sandbars for me. I like to go all the way up to Picacho and there is a sweet little beach spot on the left hand side about a mile up from the Picacho camping area/lauch ramp. I'll be the guy with the solid white jet boat with two goofy blue summit plastic bucket seats and a blue bimini. Maybe a couple of SoCalJetBoat stickers if brad gets back to me on price and cc info lol. I just might stop by and take you up on the beer or twelve. It will probably be just me and my better half. We're trying to get her kids to come out, but I don't think they will. So if you go up that way look me up and I'll keep an eye out for ya when we pass by.

WTB / Re: A LIL WTB & A LIL NEED TO KNOW

Had a couple of competent builders tell me stock is ok up to about 500hp. Whether that is true or not, I'm not sure. I've been running a stocker through some pretty rough stuff without any movement of the oil press guage. Stocker holds 6 quarts which is not bad. I was thinking I would run the 6 or 7 quart late model mustang conversion pan just because it's rear sump.

yeah, I had to call them to find that one I got. All they had on their website was Sunbrella and Vinyl. I looked it up in the catalog and then called them to see if they had it in stock. Give them a call, or you can call me and I'll look it up for you 760-234-6776. I'm working dayshift now so I'm home after 4pm.

save it for the dunes bonfire. All my old gas gets used to light bonfires when we go to the desert or the dunes.

You got it, what I heard was owner had legal issues as I mentioned and his son took over and ran it into the ground. He was the bar manager. I used to go there for Karaoke, then he replaced karaoke with hiphop music. They lost money like crazy when they did that, but he was too proud to admit it and get the karaoke guy back. Man do I miss that place. I found a place here in Yuma that is pretty close. It's a little place in the Yuma foothills on Fortuna Rd called Don Quiote's. If you ever come out this way to the river, you should try it. It's not the same but pretty dang good flavorwise.
