Had a couple of competent builders tell me stock is ok up to about 500hp. Whether that is true or not, I'm not sure. I've been running a stocker through some pretty rough stuff without any movement of the oil press guage. Stocker holds 6 quarts which is not bad. I was thinking I would run the 6 or 7 quart late model mustang conversion pan just because it's rear sump.

As for the bolts you need you are better off measuring and going to the hardware store and getting the SS bolts. Thats what I did when I went through my engine. Had regular bolts that were rotted big time. Didnt find any kits. Dont go to homo depot or lowes tho, what they have is crap IMO. Mark

Mike,

If you have a few days you can order the bolt kit from the guys at Totally Stainless 800-767-4781.

For the cable call Josh or Tom at Jet Boat Performance, I purchased 2 cables from them and got a good price.

i bought a bolt kit once and couldnt use most of the bolts...either too long or too short because they were cut for a car setup (ex water pump, not a water blockoff plate)

If you are looking for a cable, you might want to try Minnie's Marine in Costa Mesa/ Newport Beach. Its right next to Hoag hospital. They sell a whole bunch used marine parts and had lots of cables when I was there today. I know my buddy bought his cable there. Everything is very reasonably priced too. The have all the brass fittings you could ever want for $3/ pound. Stainless Steel bolts by the pound. Most of the stuff there is from salt water boats, but I've found many things are fairly universal.
