I'm starting to here not very good things about Synthetic , Ralph what u think.?

Oil leaks, valve train failure etc.....plus gasket failure.
What is your input ???

I've always used  20/50 wt  Valvoline Racing oil...never had a prob.

This Guy was running a blower on this thing too.... :sly: (He never mentioned that till today  871 )

Engine failure caused by :

1.  Fuel Wash

2. Valve Float

at least all the parts were shined  by gasoline :screwy:

I'm gonna guess natural...

Why would anyone wanna spend $ 800.00 on pistons for a stock low comp. engine  :-\

IMO :

I prefer forged pistons over anything else for marine applications for obvious reasons.

Lots of good pistons out there..Diamond Racing/ Probe/ JE/ Speedpro ...etc.
have had great success with these  ;D

Yet if it's a FORD ...just through in a used set of anything u can find  :sly:

They broke at the bottom of lock grooves & they were Manley.
OVER REV. PERIOD .
Can't name the cyl. head manufacturer for obvious reasons  :sly:

I've gotta friend that HAD a neighbor out in Mohave Valley Az.

This guy was out there trying to start his boat in the garage.
His wife was turning the key, the guy was fueling the carb. with starting fluid endlessly.
Dang thing went up in flames killing them both. The explosion was horrible.

Please...never use starting fluid  :thumbdown:

The problem  in this case is in the " Lifter oil Gallery."
 It is cracked & Pumping the oil into the water jackets on the thrust side of block on the 1 thru 7 side.
Upon engine shut down, the cooling system will send  almost an undetectable amount of coolant back into the
block , which is virtually un-noticed. Finding the problem is a bear :sly:

1. Solution:
    Junk it!  ;D


I have seen this in Inline 6 cyl. Chevy and  SBF as well.

There must have been valve float going on. The Hemi bottom end is WAYYYY stronger that anything else out there. Because a hemi has the valves opening into each other on opposing sides of the engine, any valve float will kill it. Don't skimp on the valve springs.

Valve  Springs checked out  Ok..... Is valve float / Over revving not the same thing   ;D
