I don't know, but I did find some info that says this boat is not a Sprint, the Sprint name came later  :-\ , and I was right about it not liking rough water.  This is no circle boat !!  It needs smooooooth water,  just like I thought.

It might be awhile before there is any more progress on this thing, I'm getting tired of looking at it and need a break (way to much of the 2 steps forward and 3 steps back going on  :banghead:) . Looks like I'm going to stick to the swimming pool this summer  >:( >:(

Propless has left the building  ;)

Yes it is--I love to go to Shasta, probably my favorite lake in CA, but it is a 6+ hour tow for me. Also, I've been at Shasta when it was 110* outside. Shaver, on the other hand is much smaller, but at 5500' elevation, so it is always 20* cooler than the valley. I imagine that you could make the tow in about 3 hrs, maybe a little more. There is an excellent camp ground (Edison) with good facilities for either tent camping or RVs. We have a cabin there and it looks like I'm going to be "stuck" up there most of the summer, so if you want to come over and check us out, give me a call.

Mark shhhhhhhhhhhh,  don't be telling these guys about the nice places around here  :screwy: .  He was just kidding there's no such place a Shaver lake, the only lakes around here are Pine Flat and Millerton , both have ugly muddy shore lines covered with stickers and rattle snakes  :o :o .

Well today was the day to collect the motor out of the Lancer.  :'( Poor old boat, but it will get a new motor some day,  just not this beast (way to much power for a YJ).  The poor old boat also lost its spot in the garage today, now its outside under the canopy with the project Daytona.  I need more room or fewer boats!!

no more motor  :'(

In its new home

The MIGHTY BBF !!!  Just waiting for parts now, OOHHH Billy,  GET TO WORK!!!  ;D

And one for 2sav !!  >:D  The Chevy killer is coming to get you 2sav!!!

Yep , They are definitely brothers  ::). I come home every day and collect items from the back yard .   Little Leo went to the vet today and weighs 25lbs now  :o (he doubled his weight in a month) .  We are in BIG trouble Mark !!

LOL. Ohhh,  you mean the only one that works around here.  Again, no.  I spend my time working on the project.    Hmmmm, now that I think about it, there's got to be something wrong with me if Id rather stay home and work on a boat than take the running boat to the lake  :sly:.  I guess I'm just bored with that old boat.  Just seems like a waste of gas, money, and time to take it out, its to slow. (stupid YJ pump) :(

Random Boat Parts For Sale / Re: bling for sale
« on: June 15, 2008, 07:30:26 PM »
I have no idea, I was being a smartass, sorry.  But, if they can keep the plating out of the bearing surfaces it might work  ??? .  Might be worth checking with a chrome shop or a good pump builder and ask if its been tried.  :-\

yeah you caught me no these have some small pitts so i wanted to get new stuff at start over and hope for a better finished product, this is another great example of how my boat builder screwed me he promised it would shine like new at this point i might just powder coat it

Just chrome it ,  That will fill in those little pitt marks, and you wont have to repolish it all the time  ;D

Wow, look at that Billy / ironman is all the way up to 34 posts (post whore) ;D

John, just a thought about the fins.  Would it be posible to weld the fins to a small piese of flat plate (to forn an L) than mount them to the top of the ride plate ? That way you could make a few sets and try different shapes and sizes without much work.

BTW, sorry about the drool marks on your pump brace  :-[ .  It just looks cool !!  ;D

Looking good bro ;)    Sooooo.......... when do you plan on getting it wet?

2sav

Do you mean like a date its going to be done according to a plan ?   I gave up on making plans like that, when its done its done  :-\ .   I was hopeing for the Parker trip, but nooo, my stubborn as# wanted wood floors  :banghead:  Labor day, maybe ???

Have you even taken the other boat out for a run yet ???

2sav

If you are talking about the Daytona (there are 3 boats here  :screwy:).  No , That's next on the project list.

Looks fantastic! Keep after it and you'll be on the waters soon. Trust me, everyone here knows how long it takes to go from a hull to a boat. Keep after it and fall back on you "sponsors, (ie, the rest of us)" to keep focused............john

Thanks John,  Its nowhere close to being as cool as your project (that thing is sweet !!), but I love it .  ;D

Sponsors  :o , Whoohoo !!  Its not even done and I have sponsors !!   Does that mean the sponsorship checks are in the mail ?  ;) ;D

The rails are done, almost.  I am still going to take them back out to do the final finish on the floors and stringers, but all the holes are drilled and they are mounted for now, no thanks to my little helper Leo. ::)  I caught him trying to make off with one of the pieces of angle to mount my seats, sneaky little guy !  :sly:

the little parts thief  ::)

 NO  >:(

The stringers are to pretty to drill holes in, so I need to go get some double sided tape and super glue  :screwy:

Are you still sitting in your boat listening to your new stereo, and making vroom vroom noises ?  ;D

Heres a pic of my new custom rail kit from Billy / ironman.  8' rails and plates 2 1/2 x 3/8 (super strong !!), all countersunk bolts,  I just need to drill 20 holes in my stringers now  :'(
