Ill never understand why people have brake problems on gms...i got 120k on factory brakes...they measured 7mm last week...im beginning to think its the drivers

I would agree its a caliper issue when the pads don't wear evenly.

Here's another one you don't hear much about. Fluid and the flexible hoses to the calipers! Used to see this one on U-Hual trucks all the time, regardless of brand of vehicle. All new pads, rotors and calipers, let go the steering wheel and hit the brakes, hold on for your life! You were pulling one way or the other!

Brake fluid really needs to be flushed, like transmission fluid SHOULD be, not just drained and changed, at about the same intervals, for one. Second, anytime you change calipers, do not be a cheapskate. Change the hoses! Here's why. While soft, decrepid hoses will mildly increase the amount of pedal pressure you need to apply to stop the vehicle, the same restrictions will apply when you release the brakes. In other words, the lack of pedal pressure when you release the pedal does not immediately completely release the pressure in the hoses, allowing the brakes to ride or hang for maybe a few to more than a few seconds on the rotors. More of a problem braking just a 'tad' at freeway speeds than starting and stopping all the time around town. This is likely why we identified it at U-Hual prolly 7 years ago. That and, well, we've all rented U-Hual trucks, and run 'em like we stole 'em, right? 

In a nutshell, if the pads were wearing out prematurely, say in 30k or so miles, a service bulletin was issued that the system was first to be flushed, the hoses and calipers were changed along with fresh cut rotors and new pads. Then bled properly with the same flushing device. Never saw that problem resurface on the same vehicle. Just food for thought!

Oh, also make sure you're coating the shit out of the slides/liners with Motorcraft brake silicone.......... I've noticed more of a problem with my rear calipers because the rear axle is in the water so much. When they squeak at all, time to pull the wheels and calipers and relube the little S/S liners.

OK, I gotta ask. That thing RAN, in the water, plumbed like that? Don't take it the wrong way, I ended up with Moo because it was plumbed exactly the same way and it hydrolocked a brand new engine, BADLY! Headers were added at the same time on the PO.
I have several of those front covers and T-stat housings, planned on scrapping them for that reason. Apparently it works???

Proppy and I BOTH learned our lessons about engine parts on the counter, or in the kitchen AT ALL, the hard way, although I think Proppy was recently granted a pardon and allowed back in the house. He blames me. Go figure.

Current G/F made the comment to me, if I remember right "Is this a place to prepare and cook meat or just to play with it".......
