1. take notes/pictures during dis.assy....it helps. 2. clean/mag/inspect/pressure check if in doubt. 3.remove all oil gallery plugs and freeze plugs. 4. stamp/mark all parts. 5. pre.assy. is a must to check all oil clearances/contact points,before final assy.. 6. check cam fit/degree cam..a must. 7. check valve/piston clearances,always....especially w/big cams/big pistons. 8. precise measuring tools will be needed. 9. be careful w/parts that may be damaged during shipping..ex. bent cams, etc. 10. this is just basic stuff.... there is a wealth of combinations for parts,and opinions out there.. these are just my thoughts to try and assist you guys/gals. remember a well built engine is no different than any other consumer product....you get what you pay for. 11. always, pre-lube engine prior to installing. in closing, i support other engine builders out there and welcome their comments...as well as anyone elses. .... if you need further asst. call me at (714) 879-9671..... free consultation. see-ya next time @ engine building tips part 2.
