The boat belongs to my good friends brother in law. Boat isnt too bad. He took it out about 5-6 years ago to perris, Skimmed it across the watter took it home and parked it. Scared him. Those pics were the first time in a year or so the cover was off, he use to regularly start it but the braided line sprung a leak on the carb and that was around a year ago and there it sits. The water was from him hosing it off.

Replace the gasket between the dizzy and block. Had this issue with my bb in my car. It will either run down along the heads an off the side or be burned off while it sits on the intake valley.

I don't know....I'll see when I tear it down.

We had 2 known problems....water in the cylinders and no compression........cylinders that had a cup of oil in
them when we got the heads off.

Last time I saw symptoms of that nature it was a head gasket issue as in the wrong gasket and a warped head that wasn't machined properly.. Wish you the best hopefully it isn't that bad.

I personally wouldn't because im weird like that but read the two bottles and compare what's in them. Chances are its the same product just different labeling and bottles. Nowadays oils and additives have to conform to regulations to meet the requirements.

Or there is this. EZ EFI I ran a twin set up on my chevelle and it was flawless never had a issue. Till I needed to put my hood back on. And that's why I went single carb. Requires an o2sensor though don't know where you would put it. Probably have to go dry headers if not already there.

Here's some literature on the product.

So the boat I bought was last reg in 05 and I don't remember when the dmv drops it.  I will happily wait a year to register it if theirs no fees. Anyone know how long before the dmv drops records?

I would go back to the shop and ask him in person where your parts are, if he tells you the same thing that their sold tell him you will be back in 2 days to pick up your old parts or new replacements because he had no right to sell or take anything from your engine for his personal gain. I would also file a police report after the first visit and make it clear to him that you are going to do so and now theirs official documentation on the subject for legal purposes.

Jet Pumps / Re: Starting time..on Berkley
« on: August 26, 2011, 12:37:03 PM »
Can't speak from personal experience but growing up I use to help my grandfather work on his. Everytime he would change something on the engine we would pull it and to pull the engine out of his boat it only took around an hour or so. Then it was off to the shop to have it dyno tuned. They would get dead on then fatten it up a bit and back in the boat. About a day worth of screwing around and It was about $200 for the tune. Never had engine problems on the water.
