Good Idea, actually. It's an HEI unit on this one, (Not a fan) so the cap would take care of the coil as well. I'll do that.

Fuel lines are braided stainless, and seem very solid.  Just think I'm missing something rediculously simple here.

OK, so most by now have seen the Pickle Boat. But it has developed a problem that seems to come and go as it wishes.

At a Bartlett lake gathering in February, it ran fine all day. Could hold 5500 RPM no problem. RJ drove it towards the main part of the lake late in the day, and it seemed to run out of gas. I jumped in the seat, got it fired, and could limp it in at about 1700 rpm. Anything above that it'd die out. Had RJ watch the fuel pressure guage, it never moved. I thought low on fuel. After I got it home, Nope! 1/2 tanks.

Got home, I have the corner on the Holley marine 750 Carb market I think, had another rebuilt for it. Seemed to cure it. At Temple Bar, ran fine when Nordie and I were running until late in the day on saturday when we all bailed due to weather, and she would NOT sustain 3500 rpm. Didn't make RJ do the fuel pressure guage thing then, but next day, same issue, try and press it above 3000-3500 and it acted like it was out of gas.

We checked both fuel filters (In fact Nordie and Brandon looked at mine at Temple). Problems not there.

Guess we'll wait til the new Holley Red shows up and the fresh 850 I dropped off for rebuild gets installed to see. But I'm perplexed, any simple thing I'm mising here guys?!

I agree with that. Tossed the idea around, and researched it myself quite a bit. The real idea behind NJ/CJ racing is that ANY hull can be competetive. Full stringer required for CJ, but not for NJ. These guys know the rules better than me, but I would not be looking for a "Race Hull" if you're purely going to run those classes. It's really designed to be a class for us "shade-tree mechanics" on a budget, as I understand it, and get more people involved in the sport.

IMO, Just look for a good, solid hull to begin with and go from there. If I didn't have so much going on right now, I'd probably be looking more seriously at it. Maybe next year.

Probably bringing Moo, since I still haven't quite figured out Pickles fuel problem. I'm down to it's either a blown power valve circuit in the carb or really leaning towards a crap fuel pump (Holley Blue electric). Got another carb being rebuilt this week and ordered a new pump. Should get to the lake next week and start swapping parts. Gotta be one of them! Grrrrrr these things are aggravating!

But Roy, going after Wall Street and Day Traders IS the right thing to do, and the main reason and cause of the debacle we are in today. Not a new revelation, their shit started in the 70's. Al-Qaida coulda done us all a favor, in a round a bout way, if one of those planes had hit the NYSE building and NOT the World Trade Centers. But I'll save all that for another thread or PM.

There's a house down the street from me, foreclosure home, that when I came back from the Tom Papp Deal my street was blocked off by the PoPo, a forensics unit and a Haz mat team. (Funny story in itself getting home that night) I live in a VERY quiet neighborhhood, mostly retired folks, ok.

Turns out these punks had a HUGE meth lab running in the place for the last couple of years off a generator in the basement. Nice house too, but it's gonna be razed by the city because of that, after they're done with the banks lawyers. Be an open lot down the street for boat parking guys!........

Ran my PD cable OT on Pickle, works fine. Steering cable I don't think you can, but f/r you should be able to on the Sanger.  Just make sure they stay away from the headers.......
