Could be a million and one things, or some combination of any or many of them. I'm not an expert, but I'd suspect a rod bearing failure first and foremost. Sounds like you might have a LOT of engine work ahead of you no matter what it was.....

Just thinking out loud, but why not cut them off, and reflare with a normal flare fitting, or use a compression fitting to flare or pipe?  Easy to get to AN from there.

I'm not seeing normal snails, even rotated 90 degrees, makin that! Just me, maybe. Funny Glenn mentioned Schiada, didn't Nicks pops' old Schiada have O/T headers that were SCAREY close to that center spacing?

Use Permatex number 1,  almost as good as welding  O0

P.S.  don't ever plan on taking them apart again  >:D

X2!!!! Experimented a bit before putting the O/T pipes back on Pickle with the Permatex. Still got some #1 on my thumb that won't go away...........Guess what I used.........If It ever leaks or cracks again, gonna need new logs as well.........

Find a bud or shop with one of them Bore scope camera deals to look at the piston through the spark plug hole. Odds are maybe 50/50 on the damage deal.

If you can't find someone with one, Home Depot sells a Milwaukee one for under $300 you can use to check it out, and we have a VERY liberal return policy.........But I didn't tell you that.........

I agree, $24.9 for an '05 F250 is a BIT much. Don't care how cherry or what equipment it has. Paid QUITE a bit less for my '06 F350 a year ago...... Cloth seats, crew cab, 8' bed, single wheel rear, vinyl on the floor (A plus to me, I can just hose all the sand and dirt off), 4x4, but, well, "around" 5 figures less......Granted, over 100k, but still.......

Ray

Edit: PS ask Nordie what he thinks of his Duramax..............

 I drive an '06 F350 with the 6.0. I LOVE IT!

Can trailer a boat up 93 to Kingman over hill and dale with the cruise set at 65+ and the only guage that moves is the boost guage! I have yet to hit the "tow" button.......

Heard some of the bad rap on the 6.0 as well, bought mine with 101k on it a little over a year ago, has 148k on it now, not ONE problem!

I was NEVER a Ford fan. Point of fact, had a 99 Exploder as a company vehicle for 3 years that was in the shop more than I used it! BUT a smokin deal, so I bought this. Great Truck! I beat the hell outta it too! (It's a truck for christs sake!).

Expect a loooooong line at the funeral services! The "Falcon Field Hangar" party, I'm told, was his dad's idea. And a good one! Noone expected the outpouring of support for the family of this whole tragedy, nor did they expect so many people flying into town from all over the world, representing nearly all aspects of racing, not just boats.

Makes me really wish I had actually met the man. My bud Curt ALWAYS brought Dave and his boats up when we talked about mine, or you guys, and what I was doing with them. We just never hooked up last year. We planned to this year!

My dogs are dumb and will not be there that weekend. They are not trained or well behaved or whatever you want to call it so they will not be coming that weekend. They are better on the small weekends when there is not a ton of people there. They do love it though.

LOL! good thing, If Hallet Dave IS there, I'd hate to see a fatality to report!  :sly:

My dogs are scared to death of the boats! Tried twice with them! Last time, at Bartlett, RJ was holding Moo, who, as soon as I rolled into the Pickle out of the NWZ jumped outta his arms and cowered at the very tip of the bow under the deck shaking. Becca was holding Ruger, roughly 1/2 the size of Moo and was feverifhly hitting my shoulder from behind me "Stop, daddy, STOP!" So I dropped it to an idle, and then saw what had happened.

Hard not to laugh, truley, he had scratched her a lil, she says he bit her then pissed all over her! She was soaked, the seat soaked......idled back in to the beach and the kids took turns. One watched the dogs while the other went for a ride.....went like that ALLL DAYYYYY!

Never again! Pussy dogs! And I can't keep either of them out of the pool or away from the sprinklers??? :screwy:

I really didn't see that much wrong with it!  :sly:

Yeah, poor Mikes gonna hafta lift his OWN ass off the seat now, but maybe it's because I spend so much time these days in Aisle 31 at Home Depot that the same thought has crossed my mind more than once!   :screwy:

ray why is there a bunk where the intake is supposed to be? can that happen?

Yeah, that's a 'nudder thing. Bunks are supposed to be under both, only one fin on the extreme side of each intake. Once I get Nicks address (texted him....hint....hint.....) and get the intakes back, I can set them. They cut one bunk off to get one of them out, then apparently fugured it out. gonna cut that other bunk off as well, then once I set the intakes, use the neighbors backhoe to lift the hull and put new carpeted bunks on.

At least, in theory, that's the plan....... :screwy:
