more shiney shit to tinker with. nuff said. You nailed it right on the head!
Why do you want to change from a simple, reliable mechanical pump?
he's right. they're pushers not suckers. ideally you want the pump as close to the tanks as possible and LOW. that way theres a siphoning like effect on the tanks and it always keeps the pump loaded. You have a BBC in that Tahiti right? Where is your pump?
I hate long beach. Stuck in a condo...
You previously stated it was a "959" " mid seventies" block, which means it would have been a MK IV block.
gee you took that the wrong way. it looks rough now, obviously its not completed. im sure it'll shine like new and run great afterwards.
at least my boat seats more than 2 starving eithiopians. have fun making sand castles in your backyard. hah.
Ha, I like no permits required. That's a good one.Thought of another construction related name...Major Addition
And yeah I don't know why it's on there. But there is even a little Kermit on the bow. And my daughter likes the frogs, so I don't know that she'd be able to pick a different name. Or it would end up named spongebob or something.
Sent while on the run, or sitting at work bored
Correct. A "hotter" plug simply has more exposed center electrode...more exposed protrution into a cylinder means that protrution will be exposed to more heat and therefor, retain more heat...eventually leading to preignition in some cases. Run the coldest plug you get away with without fouling it, and adjust your mixture for the right color. Reading plugs is a skill I've not yet mastered...few have. You can tell a lot if you know what to look for. Color is rough indicator, ground strap heat line is another, and how far the color extends down the insulator is another. I generally err on
The fat side, because I'd rather be 2/10 slower than a set of pistons broker.
Thanks guysAm now leaving the spensive plugs and going to autolite. What range you guys using??? 460 Ferd
yes they do !!! the numbers that you need are the cast ones. the stamped numbers give the dates.and i beleave the horsepower. if you get the cast numbers and type them into your search engine it will come back with what you have. if not let me know i have a couple of books.good lucks!
which set of taylors?
If he does that, then forward's gonna be backward, and backward's gonna be forward....................

carb had 65 pri, 73 sec jets. ended up at 75/80 and it runs PERFECT now. no choke, no stuttering, jumps out of the hole perfect and WOT's perfect.
