I must admit I've had nothing but good dealings with everyone I've dealt with on the site. Marcsrollin found and mediated the Crower injection setup purchase a few years ago, Howard19 has fronted money on dealings at his shop for me, being closer to you guys, and even drove a blower down to me he found and negotiated the purchase of for me, Skip has picked up, sat on and delivered engines and other things to me, all the Vegas crew, don't even know where to begin with those cats, they do it all! Flytime even picked up a boat for me, worked on it for days, got it running, and delivered it! Crewcheif and I have had many parts swapping between us either at events or at the nearest I-10 eit to his home. Considering running Apple Pie for him to deliver to the PHX valley as a side job..........

I don't think there's a members garage on the site that wasn't sitting on parts or even boats for long periods, and I have reciprocated in eyeballing, purchasing and storing boats, engines and other stuff for a few members here with no issues. I still have parts sitting in some garages in SoCal, lol. And I know they are safe. I've given parts away to many, and received free parts from many. 

I have stayed in some of your homes on Boating weekends, and some of you have stayed in mine. If I didn't call your name out specifically, don't feel slighted, I do remember! but the post was intended to be short. Probably too late, so Ralph, Pat (Ibhsz), John (Glasscutter), Jason (Riverdad), Proppy, Jon (BrendellaPickle), Josh (Nordie), Branden(Nordic454), Brian (Boost), awww hell, just look down the members list and probably 70% of them I've had dealings with, met and was always a pleasant experience.

The Member in question I have met several times and can say the same. He has been the mediary delivering parts to me from SoCal to a gathering a time or two as well, and I have donated parts to him just as I have many of you on the site, and helped (Or tried to) in many parking lot fixes. This does not justify Harry's situation in the slightest, as this money to Harry was for me to build him a 460 for his Howard. Short block is together and is basically what Moo's engine was when I had her.

The Memories though! I remember one time Skip brought me a complete 460 engine I had bought out of Stockton to Big River. I hadn't even seen the engine, it sat in the guys garage for months, and then Skips for months. I brought my cherry picker and we pulled it from his truck to mine. This was Friday night. B-rad needed an alternator, so we yanked that for him and got that running, Chromey needed some spacers, bolts and brackets so belts would stay on his, so that's where they went, we pulled the dizzy and put in on another boat (I forget whose), the fuel pump went on a 4th......Rivertard had blown his up and we thought seriously about dropping the rest of the engine in his.

I guess I hope that incidents like this do not stop or even slow this type of interaction. Most of the members on here I have met IRL and boated with and their integrity I would hold above my own.

It's an interchangeable barrel on that, maybe why it looks that way. The Seville is ALSO interchangeable, and why they only made them a short time (Lawsuit from Dan Wesson)

Funny thing about Ohio! I never had any legal issues with that incident, but coulda. Ohio has NO Concealed carry law or "defense" precedents! I have licenses that cover me in every one of the 49 other states EXCEPT Ohio, where I'm from.

Now, I carryed a gun there anyway (Fock them! At least I'll be alive!), as I did anywhere anyway, especially since making large bank deposits at night, etc (I worked retail), But I always credited the G/F for that instance because she kept me on the phone (She was actually pissed off about something I did, who knows what I did or said, I forget now) Had it not been for that, the little bastards woulda suceeded.

In that hood, we didn't have real issues with that, overall. About once a year we'd have a car broke into, shit stolen, but no stolen vehicles. I lived there another 5 years and we NEVER had another single instance. You could leave your lawn mower out, car unlocked, it was still there in the morning, untouched.

It is up too LEO to "investigate" crime after it happens, which does NOT give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It is up to US to "prevent and defend ourselves and property BEFORE or DURING it happening".

I'm a big fan of using diesel fuel as a cleaner than gasoline in tanks, etc.

Pops used to run into "snug" engines all the time in trenchers, tractors or backhoes that had been sitting unused. Did it on a couple trucks also. He would fill the cylinders with diesel fuel, put the plugs in overnight, then next day pull the plugs and rotate the engine over 90*, do the same thing again. Then pull the plugs and get it cranking over with the starter (no plugs) and get the stuff out. THEN change the oil, throw the plugs back in and fire it up.

We'd never heard of Marvel Mystery oil, but would have probably done the same thing. But Diesel usually worked fine. Once in awhile, you'd still have a sticky ring that would eventually free itself up.

There was one occassion he had one that just wouldn't budge with a 3/4" ratchet on the crank. It was a Ford Industrial 4 cyl gas engine that was in a towable generator. He was gonna put the engine in an old Parson's trencher he picked up. So he filled the crankcase and cylinders with diesel (almost 5 gallons worth). Left it sit for a while, trying to crank it over once a day or so. After about 2 weeks it popped loose. He kept working it around, drained everything, refilled it again, worked it around leaving it soak over another week or so. Drained everything out of it, pulled it from the generator pack and dropped it into the trencher. New oil, wired it up, fired on the first crank and was still running good when we sold it at auction after he died.

Pat cleans tanks the same way I did in Moo, LMOA! Except, I scored some canvas coin bags from the bank and threw a handfull of nuts and bolts in the bags then tied them shut.

Compared to other racing venues I've been involved in, why not just make the boat weight have a minimum with driver, and not restrict the engine size? Would cover alot more than just aluminum blocks. Possibly could cover future Kevlar boats, ultra light unsafe boats, etc. Just hook up a scale, everyone has to weigh this, this is the engine size you're allowed, now go for it. Seems simpler to me, just my 2 cents. 

I like this. Wouldn't be hard to do, simply weigh the boat/trailer at the launch ramp then weigh the trailer after. Easy math from there.

Well, I think driveline angle is obviously the problem! 

First, the crankshaft centerline is WAY too high to the pumpshaft centerline (You want about a 2* deflection). AND it is not anywhere near centered left/right port/starboard.

The second is not a huge issue, deflection there ALSO helps cycle the bearings in the u-joints, and that is the reason for the deflection. You have good U-Joints, with zerks.

Doesn't look to me that the motor mount "feet" attached to the stringers were disturbed, hard to say in the pics, are the holes excessively oblonged, or WERE they removed at any time?

Also looks a little "tight" to the pump, but if the thrust bearing is OK with it, then so am I.

Just a thought, but might want to break out a torque wrench and make sure the intake is solid to the hull and the pump is solid to the intake, just to take that out of the equation. I don't think that's it, but best to check anyway.
