So you gelled your boat yourself Jake? Was it really a nightmare or what? Also how was the overspray compared to paint? As far as making clouds for my neighbors lol

It wasn't a nightmare, it was just a crap ton of work! I'll pay somebody next time for sure

We run the Aerospace Vacuum pump on the race boat. Watch eBay for the rebuilt ones, they are about half of the cost.

If not http://www.jegs.com/i/Aerospace+Components/026/AC-VP3S-BBCH/10002/-1?CAWELAID=230006180000182503&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=230006180003464128&cadevice=m&gclid=CIKKoZy21MkCFUolgQodV90HrQ

You can add a little bit of clear to the gel coat to make it spray less orange pealed. But,  you will still sand your ass off no matter what.
I started with 400 grit to knock down the big stuff then worked my way up.

Gelcoat / Paint / Fireberglass Repair / Re: Rhino liner
« on: December 10, 2015, 01:17:23 PM »
Personally, doing that on the inside and outside is a bad idea. Inside is going to be hot and bad on the feet. On the bottom I would think would definitely cause drag.

Solution for the inside, flow coat or bilge coat.

Outside. Keep it off the beach...???

Jet Pumps / Re: Clean out port filled?
« on: December 06, 2015, 12:19:34 PM »

So I have another question then being a newbie here. If that's done would it be reasonable to think the veins have been ported? Everything inside the pump is painted a puke green

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats
The green would be the zinc primer they used from the factory.
Most likely stock.

Good question. I would love to do a turbo LS deal, actually thinking about doing one for the orange boat.
The turbo this had been proven by a few boats so far. Bobby fry would be one of them. But his was a standard bbc.

For me, nitrous has a bigger window of tunning ability for the track. Some of the fasted open boats are nitrous programs.

Little update. Rails got milled out and the holes for the pillow blocks were drilled. We added the extra holes for motor placement, that way we can grow as the boat gets faster.
