Here's what I would do, were it me (And it has been).

Build 2 A-frames from 4x6's, and a 4x8 across the top wide enough to clear the trailer. Then hook up the bow eye on the boat to this A-Frame apparatus from both sides and lift it as far as you can, then lift the ass of the boat with a cherry picker like you were pulling the engine. More than strong enough to do it.

This is coming from a guy, who, back east, used to change engines with a backhoe! (True stories, I'll give you Dad's phone number if you doubt me).

Well, of course Ray's going! Was my first boat driving experience EVER last year! Nordie hasn't dropped the ball on it at all, really. He, Skip and Brad came up with it last year and that noise didn't even start until late February. (I know, I was up most nights building Moo to make it!)

I'll start a new thread for the roll call on the Temple dealio. We also need to decide who's bringing what for the BBQ and what not Fri and/or SAT nights. I'll bring the grille again, wanted to make the Chile, but Crewcheif beat me to it and MAN what good Chile! (Not the Ralphy CDC Quarantine stuff either! GOOD STUFF!).

In the mean time, Brad, with the upgrade you just did, is there a way to create a section JUST for the SCJB gatherings? Maybe a Calendar of Events? (With sub-posting capability, you KNOW how we all go off track a LOT!)

I think, this past year, we've established the Temple Bar trip, the Big River trip over Fathers Day, and the AVI trip in October. I know I am missing at least one more, and not including the Blythe trip we all planned on, I think in August, that fell apart for obviously tragic reasons, (I think we need to pen that one back in this year for Tony and Jimmy, they did a TON of work on that).

Leaving us some wiggle room for even more this year! May is open, April, July, September...... I know the racing schedule has a lot to do with it, but these gatherings have seemed to me to have gotten bigger and bigger! (Now that I mention it, on the racing schedule is Firebird in November, and I have no problem hosting an event here at the lakes I terrorize with the local East-Siders).

Nothing wrong with the Olds! It was THE definative jet boat engine back in the day, and many knowledgeable people on here can support that.

450 HP? should be a cake walk, really.

I've posted this no less than 5 or 6 times, but at the risk of beating a dead horse, yes, drainback is the main issue. There are restrictor kits to the top end, special pushrods, etc, etc. (My experience is based on Pontiacs with the same condition.)

The "problem" is the oil system is too good. Pumps too much oil to the top end (Hence the "restrictor kits or fixes")

Not really necessary, IMO. removing all casting flash and adding a large capacity pan/pickup WITH a windage tray should solve most issues. Yeah, we used to smooth the inside of the heads and lifter valley, but that was extreme. the problem is more cavitation of the overly efficient oil pump through frothing of the oil on drainback. The smoothing and streamlining stopped that.
Regardless, in the 5000 rpm range, you'll be fine. It's when you push the issue with hotter cams and make your max power to 5500 or better these things show their ugly head.

450 @ 5000? Easily attainable. Call Tom at JBP or Dave at A&D to find out how.

yeah counter sproket broke, but i got like 4 more of em, and probably 4 or 5 rear sprokets....the rear sproket on there is fine, and pretty pricey.....im not interested in trades as of right now....unless it is v-drive parts.....such as a v-drive, prop shafts, but i have yet to determine what lend prop shaft i need....or v-drive degree i need....

Smokin deal on the bike! Really. Years ago I replaced the cases on my YZ250 a couple times (don't ask, VERY horrendous crashes and why it has been parked for 12 years). Not a huge deal really. Wish I had a use for it.

I was KINDA kidding on the scales, Joshie, you're a whole lot stockier than me and we weigh the same? lol.

Guess I need to lay off the Corona and switch to Bud Light...............

Yeah, it was quite fun.....and I thought that was a new pool floatie Glenn! 

Only nefarious goings on was a facebook post (I'll get even for that, even as funny as it was). Party continued through most of Sunday........(Can't beleive I made it that long!). Was supposed to call Dave yesterday, then I didn't have his number (I thought I did, so shoot me a PM Dave).

I  do agree Marc, I'm not convinced it was reversion either, but it seems like a LOT of water for all the more the intake leak showed. It's this far down, carbs are at the shop getting looked at, not a huge deal to pull it, replace head gaskets and finally fix that oil pan leak once and for all! Could also be from the timing cover. Just best to do it and be sure I guess.

Plus I can get a looksee at the bearings, etc. and get it cleaned out better!
