Don’t grind the intake if you are not going to grind the heads to match.  Ideally, the transition between the intake and the heads should be seamless.  If not, it is better to have the mismatch step down into a larger port in the head from a smaller port in the intake.  This also creates a little shearing affect that helps to re-atomize any fuel that has fallen out of suspension.

In my opinion, I think it is better to lay out the port locations rather than transfer the gasket pattern because you will find that the gaskets are often all over the place as well.
Good point joe didn't think about the head part but usually do both anyways

Most of my new intakes have been un even. I just gasket match it and port the opening to Match and sand the runners a bit to clean em up

Copied Ralph brunts design but made my mounting plate accept either my bj pump or the Bennet pump and since the new addition to the fam I'm gonna be lazy and leave the Bennet pump on for now

Not really just the first time I responded to a post your in since you seem to post a lot on a bunch of threads and seem to know so much about costs and non credited engine shops I just thought I would chime in most these peeps either are here to learn hang out and make good friends and actually voice there opinion with some respect. This forumn is why I hang around have made some good friends and learned a few tricks from time to time. I just want to pair up and see all this knowledge of yours with my polished turd and your float carry on

In the end lets just see general lee build something and drag to one of the events and then we can see where he's coming from. I will take my tired mill of 7 years slap gaskets back on it and I will be the first to call him out :). Since he's joined most if his threads he seems to know it all crate motor or whatever you build run what you brung and show all this knows ledge at the river. Ps pat thanks for the 5 mile runs up and down river Saturday it have me motivation to get my polished turd back together carry on
