SCJB Top 10 List / Re: SCJB top 10 list.
« on: November 26, 2015, 05:34:56 PM »

If U spray the shit out of anything its eventually going to blow up ...give it time....that's why engine builder's love you guys.....
If you boost the shit out of anything it's going to blow up. I ran nitrous for 3 years on my 461 before I rebuilt it no problems. Another year on my 468. What it comes down to is checking plugs and fuel pressure. Flowing fuel pressure is the most vital thing besides timing. JMO. I've know of nitrous motors running for years. It's called maintenance.

Gelcoat / Paint / Fireberglass Repair / Re: gel coat repairs
« on: November 19, 2015, 01:25:44 PM »
Gel jobs are expensive. There is a lot of time that has to be spent sanding the gel down to make it flat. It will always come out of the gun orange pealed. One color gel job I would think would start around 5 or 6 thousand on the low side.

I wouldn't doubt if we have the top 3 or 4 over 120 this coming year.

The millers have potential. It will take some work, but I've a few run into the 110 range with about 900 to 1100 hp. You got some balls to run one that fast though.

I get the rules and all that but I read something that we have to mention boat and motor combo? What if I start of with a stock BBC in January then all of a sudden I show up with a blown alky injected motor?

Sent by my fat fingers on little phone.
Then you start at the bottom again. If you are on the list..........

If you don't mind me asking did you install the canopy or did someone local do it? If it was a local company, do you have their contact info. I would like to have one installed over my space in Lost Lake. Thanks Andrew
A guy in the park does them for most of the perm spots. I'll see if I can get his info for you

SCJB Top 10 List / Re: SCJB top 10 list.
« on: November 12, 2015, 10:51:59 AM »

Is the kill switch that has been mentioned a tether like on a SeaDoo that kills the motor if you're ejected, or something else?

I still like the hand signal or flag start given by a third party for two reasons:

With two evenly matched boats, the driver giving the nod will always have a slight advantage, and;

Instead of looking at each other, the drivers will be looking forward at the river in front of them.

A hand/flag start would require more people to stage a race though.

Yes it's just like that. The Mercury kill switch is super easy to wire in and very durable.
