Ok, Yeah, been there a couple times in the last couple weeks. Didn't pay attention to the pumps! lol

Doesn't look too bad, but Glenn's right, the gelcoat looks to be all that is cracked to me. Probably a very neglected boat left out in the open and never waxed, etc.

A LOT of sanding to get through the gel coat, then a lot of resin and glass fibers (Pull apart some mat) to get it all level again so it don't look like a washboard once you paint it. (See, I'm learning guys!).

If it's flat, yeah use a 2x4 wrapped in sandpaper (I suggest at least 18" long and use random angles) to block it out. If it isn't flat (And I've yet to find a flat surface on a boat), gonna take a lot of touch and feel. I used to just use just my hand on cars years ago on curved surfaces, then rattle can on some cheap, fast dry high gloss paint and see where I needed to smooth it some more, then circle those areas with a Sharpie. Usually took a couple hours on say a quarter panel to get it perfect.

Hope this helps, some, but nows the time to get it right. Proper prep and sanding are 98% of any paint job.

The Moo, while looks cool, is gonna get a complete, proper, redo this winter (In the same scheme, I gotta), but wasn't done right. Can still see the outline of the original striping scheme when in the garage under the fluorescent lights at certain angles. In daylight, looks perfect. I'm picky.

I think Glenn is suggesting tapping into the water jackets at the front and/or rear of the cylinder heads like the old schoolers used to do when mounting blowers to Small Block Chebbies using low profile intake manifolds (Some still do this).

And sounds like a great idea to me, in theory. I personally would induce the water at the front water inlets where the pump would normally go, as normal, then the 4 outlets front and rear of both heads have ball valves on them and temp gauges at least for test purposes to get everything regulated and even temps on all outlets.

If you have the fortitude and time to do this, sounds almost killer in a jet boat situation!

I think the Calendar idea is a great one too, well, now that the years half over, half price calendars. If we spend enough time in the bar on Friday we may be able to score well enough to make a Snap-on style calendar, with boats tho, lol.

Since the berk is a JE I would look into swapping it for a newer model. But I would keep the challenger.

Sides, almost can't. The JE has an integral intake and a molded in set back style mount in the hull. (Shouldn't say can't, I'm sure Tom has prolly put JE's in something before) But to Marc's point, yeah, to swap out the Jacuzzi for a berk, might as well go for a JC or better yet a JG or AT/Dom setup.

I happen to know where there's a free JC-A pump with a hydraulic diverter if you're interested...........How long can you hold your breath?........................

All sounds awesome! Since I committed myself and the Moo, Nordies coming, (We're both tag teaming on Terry right now), and can't get anything outta the PHX crew, but this should be one wild weekend!

Kinda unprepared for it tho. Wanted to run and get a good tune on the Moo Thurs/friday this week, but the new diverter showed up, so there's my project! lol.  (The boatis still running untouched factory carbs and the initial 10 degree timing).

Also lost the new box anchor and bungee ropes I was told I needed in the Meaney fire. Guess I'll be shopping the local Parker dealers to replace that chit!

From what I've been able to find out (Doing the Omar thing everywhere to try and get to a small percentage of the knowledge he has), The Challenger would be the better hull, and yeah, without question, the Berk pump.

Swapping all that around, well, major deal (I'm gonna get into just that on the Hallett) Might be cheaper to get a new wife
