Typicall jetboat engine IMO, it does run and he is keeping the carb....otherwise complete..Will let you know.  Gotta figure out how to load this heavy bastard in my truck (he does not have a cherry picker...)

GT

4 guys should be able to pick it up, no problem. (I say this from experience. Course when I used to do such things I was 20 years younger.......)

Good job guys!  was contemplating a cross betweeen Chromey's motor and mine would probably make 1 good engine.

Hose them down with PB blaster (Amazing stuff). Leave it sit over night, beat around the header with a board( hit the board with a hammer while holding it on the header), then soak it down again. I had to do this over 5 days to get one of mine out of my Bassetts. Then when I held the header and smacked it down on a board on the garage floor, fell right out.

Ray, not sure if i would call the captain out or not ??? for me, i just rip into a project (normally a boat) to keep my self busy and get something done.

Exactly what's going on, gotta do some work on the Moo! (Al6 fell off the engine cover, wrapped a few wires around the alternator and threw the alt belt off, prolly all that saved the AL6!)

So, I gotta lil work to do, shorten the wires up and fix them, then through bolt the damn ignition module so this doesn't happen again, lol. Fortunate we didn't get stranded with it.

Thanks Guys! Yeah, the captain was more of a joke from my daughter! (Although the Coronas are going down smoooooooth after work today, lol)

Still haven't decided which direction to head yet. Gonna take both boats out Thursday morning. The river is sounding interesting to me, and i still have enough time off to hit Mead again too so........

Are you running OT's or TT's? I ran mine underneath for my OT's, and just bought the bulk Mallory Wire and the ends from Summit. (Ended up with about 4 feet left over, but OK. ) With TT's, should be able to use anything off the shelf.

Lake Mead / Re: FATHERS DAY WEEKEND ECHO BAY

I beleive I'm still down for this one, and not the River. Don't have all the speshul achors and shit needed anyway, and I kinda know Mead, and liked it. I got a whole week off, can hit the river anytime.

Now to get BOTH boats there, well, another story. Gonna reserve rooms if there's enough of us staying there, and bring my spare grill again if anyone needs me to.

Who's all staying at the motel there?

I know I've relyed on you guys far more than is prudent. And you've all been great about it. But this is my own version of therapy, these boats and leaning on you guys. (Let alone you guys putting together what I view as my "Welcome to Boating party" at Temple Bar)

Tomorrow morning woulda been my first anniversary. Well, REAL anniversary since the Vegas Wedding anyway, since we'd been together for 4 years before all that. Been bugging me the past couple of weeks. Couldn't put my finger on it, but I've just been dreading it, and my daughter brought it up a little while ago.

She suggested my brother and I just get shit faced drunk and wants me to bring home a bottle of Captain, lol. (Something I've been staying away from the past couple months).

Sorry if this is all sappy and long winded, just had to vent it.

Hope to see you guys ALL this summer. We'll see, But that is my plan.

Ray

And THANKS, EVERYONE!

Wonder if I can inline mount a pair of those? lol

The No Wake Zone / Re: why hasnt someone done this yet
« on: May 30, 2009, 08:22:53 PM »
Just bought mine from Tom for the JE on the Moo. Bought it new for FAR less than the two or three I watched on Ebay over the last few months, and all of those were used, and 2 were missing parts, like cables and shifters or reverse buckets.

Do it right the first time.

Nothing wrong with Ebay parts buying, but just know what you are buying and what you can get it for new. (Bought my pair of 750 marine carbs on there for $425 for the set, cheapest I could find them ANYWHERE was $749 EACH, and I bolted them on and run them today without touching them.)

There are some smoking deals, just be smart about it.

The JE on the Moo is definately inset, ans et back, and as Oldsquirt said, prolly epoxied to the hull (Which was layed up specifically for this pump.)

That being said, it is not un different from a set back custom install as Tom does on a regular basis.

From looking at it, it looks like the pump housing and intake are one piece, or it uses no intake piece at all (Which it appears more likely, as it seems mounted VERY low compared to my JC pumps). But the bowl looks the same as a JC bowl, save for all the cables coming out of the bottom of the transom and not the top.

I suppose it's possible to mount it more forward in a traditional location and use a normal Berk Transom adapter, might even be able to be bolted to a traditional intake housing as well, I dunno. I'll post more detailed pics of it when I get into the Place install this week or next.

I dont have time for the boat. I just got it a few months ago and have only taken it out 3 times. I guess I'm saving money on gas and also keeping the rods in it for awhile. It kills me to walk out every morning and see it sitting there.  TC

I get it TC, Got one sitting beside ther garage begging for attention and another at a friends house being worked on. Can't stand to see them sit.
