Okay, here's the deal. Bought an old school scoop from Mouzer and my wife thinks it's hideous. One of my sons thinks I should leave it all ratty and chipped up because of the 70's paint scheme. He said everyone will be able to say "there goes Sam" when they see it. I think I should strip it and paint it red to match the stripes I'm going to paint on the boat. So I have decided to leave it up to you guys. You have one week to vote.

Got an old school fiberglass scoop and had tray cut to fit domi. I will post pics when I get a chance. I'm bummed out the polisher I had is in jail and the chrome/polishing shop is possibly out of business. Guess I'm stuck with raw finish on my intake!

Have any of you tried the Frog tape? I watched a demo on DIY network and it didn't let paint bleed through like regular masking tape. Not sure if I would need something that tough since I'm just using a rattle can.

I just want a somewhat even finish. Like I said, I will eventually put a split bowl and snoot in and have those powdercoated.

Okay so I decided to paint my pump (on boat) because it has overspray on it. I really don't want to blow a whole lot of money on it because I will eventually upgrade to split bowl with snoot etc. I want to paint it black because the diverter is powdercoated black. I plan to just mask it off sand it a little and rattle can it. Any suggestions on what grit sandpaper (or should I use scotchbrite?) and what kind of rattle can paint should I use? Epoxy, enamel, acrylic???

The website usually has free shipping so make sure they don't try to charge you for the shipping at the store. The website has the best prices (cheaper than tirerack) and is based out of AZ so if you do decide to order them, only a day away. But like I said, store will match their website price. Discount also offers a pretty good tire insurance for life of tire for like $30 per tire. I had a screwdriver go thru the sidewall of a tire with 30k miles and they replaced no charge!!!
