I'd run it without the butterflys for now, and order the linkage kit from Prestolite. Not listed online, but the Prestolite website shows parts list.

Hate to say it, but yeah, kinda looks like a season of Desperate Housewives, lol.

You guys better get this thing, RJ is DYING to see it (And wants it, lord help me, I've created a monster!).

FWIW, I've found the speedo in it pretty damn accurate in the cars!

I already have the freeby blaster coil.
125 a case and I thought mobil 1 fir the harley was bad at 11 a quart

That's actually more expensive if you do the math. The kicker was I ran their break in oil first, which was 100 for THAT case, and to only run it a few hours was crazy, but I did it, lol. Now if I don't figure out where it's leaking from on the pan, this thing's gonna bleed me to death slowly like an ex-wife! >:D  (Small leak, but after running the boats as hard and as long as we did sunday, quite a pool of oil in the bilge and it needs about a half qt.)

I know my shop has had to order ball joints and bushings for the 4x4s directly from Dodge.  Nobody in the aftermarket had anything available at the time.

Good luck

X2, had a similar problem on many occasions with a Dakota I had quite a few years back, no aftermarket stuff, hadda get it from Chrysler.

I have a blue boat, but am not gonna race it. The Moo has a bluish bimini, does that count?

Ray

Edit, and I would personally not run NOS on a boat. Ran it many times on street/strip cars, but you only use it when racing. If you need more ooomph, look inside the motor for it. Your pump and passengers will thank you.

Glad to help Cadillac. Though I really didn't help in any way. The diver seemed cool enough, waving at me and asking if I knew the owner (To which I said well, kinda......).

They THEN asked if they needed to follow me around, who's been talking???? :sly:

Figure out what you need. I have guages in the Saguaro and in this Hallet Brad just gave me (Faded, but prolly all work fine to get it through the season). Didn't catch how your seats were in there, but maybe someone has some laying around....( eh hem ...Aquaholic.........)

I got a girl that works for me in Chandler that is an upholsterer and artist and gawd knows what else she does well (She's kinda scarey and weird), but she'll work for cheap on your seats, or replacements if we can come up with them ( ah hem!....Aquaholic). lol.

Big thing is the engine. Lemme know how it works out, I'm a phone call and a heart beat away from you, a garage full of stuff I may or may not be able to ID, and now a yard full of boats! (Hallett is already going to get underway at another garage, once the blue one comes back, I have no room for it, lol) On that note, I'm thinking a SCJB Boat, I mean the graphics, colors, skull, everything all over it.

Well, there's you and Terry, Jeremy's got my boat, so that's three. Chromey's not fixing his, so I'd guess he's free (sent Jeremy with a couple toddler vests, JIC Chromey tries the Babysitter excuse), I'd say you're ok if you have a few old tires or tubes layin around. More tha  enough horsepower to flip it and drag it. I'd take some spray foam (The Door and Window stuff), and a couple tubes of silicone, but that's just me thinking out loud.

Left Jeremy with one rope, 25' I think, might need more.

This is just me guys, I would try lifting it. put some tires or tubes under the gunwales of it, then drag it right into the shoreline before flipping it.  You've prolly already planned this with Terry's Yeager, but you might be able to flip it right into the water on it's bottom.

Just my .02, and you guys prolly already thought of that.

That it does, lol. There's another thread saved!

I'm well into a twelve pack of Corona now, and the thing is growing on it's own in my lil brain. My first thoughts were on the ride home, lets' do this on the cheap. I mean, the boat was free, so let's see how many free and dirt cheap parts we can use to put it together. Then paint it to be the SoCalJetBoats flagship (Which I can get done free).

After looking closely at the hull, no way can I do this in good concience. The thing was made to run, obviously. And run it will. I mighta went a lil nuts on the Moo, but what's in my mind right now borders on insane, lol

Ray

It's goin Berk for sure, researching Tom's old posts right now for how he went about that. I'm also thinking setback.

All this is just thinking out loud, mind you. Don't know much about Cav's though.  Looks like a runner either way.

Yeah, I get it.  I'm hoping he was doing what I WOULDA DONE, and be in the marina bar gettin tanked!

Then I'd prolly just wanna lick my wounds and look at what I got left

BUT, if I were on here, and I'm jaded, I know you guys woulda helped me out and I'da used that resource. (you guys have been my support group anyway and you know why and how)

Only been a day guys, his baby went down, I'm sure it wasn't cheap to recover it, and in this economy, may be more to this than meets the eye.

But yeah, I'm dying to know too! Why start it and not follow through. I'm a follow through nut, and am kicking myself every day for no progress on the Yellow Submarine (actually causing me some stress), but I'm having too damn much fun with the ones I have running right now!!!!

Lol thanx Glenn. Just one of my thoughts. This boat has a LOT of open space for motor as the cockpit area is so far forward. Different than anything I've ever looked at, and NOT a cruiser hull, very shallow V (Less than the moo or the Saguaro). Almost flatbottom like.

But you guys know that, and there's several of them on here I know.

I damn near had my bud pull one of the trucks down with my trailers to at least get it out of the water.

I can't imagine what the bill is for this stuff, maybe Ralph can. I can only guess there may be Hazmat issues as well.

Ray

Edit, actually, the county and state would have nothing to do with it. It's worse because it's in the Tonto National forest, so then falls under the Feds and the BLM. The state only supplies the law enforcement through Fish and Game, for which they get grants for doing.

i havent lost money on it.....i spent $700 on it (yeah, way too much for the times)...but i got $350 for that jacuzzi place diverter...and i still have the jacuzzi pump..and a nicson floor mount foot pedal.....and a bunch of other useless hardware i pulled out of it. figure if i can get $200 or so for the jacuzzi pump....im close enough to call it even in my book

those 4 calls were all for the trailer only....they were going to dispose of the hull.....which i would hate to happen. its fuggin ugly as sin, but is still solid as an ox and has a ton of potential to live another 30+ years.

but its yours now, do as you please....restore it...junk it...make a flower garden out of it....what ever you do, just have fun doin it.

Lol, nope, just spent about 10 or 20 minutes out there drinking a beer and processing what I think it could be. It's gonna get built. Just trying to wrap my lil brain around it right now.

And I was kidding about the Fugly part, I see the potential in it. Very desireable hull.
