Could be a lot of things causing it. The learning curve never quits. On one of mine it's likely caused by the points and/or valve springs. we'll nail it down and fix it next week. (I'm thinking a complete MSD or Mallory unit w/dizzy during the intake change and then see).

If you do have an AA impeller, pull it out immediately and ship it to me before you hurt yourself!

So Terry seems to beleive the carb is a 750, and I agree with him that the RPM limitation is prolly due to the valvesprings (makes sense now that I think about it). I picked up a pretty good deal on an 850 marine DP, looks like I'm going to go ahead and install the  RPM intake with it that came off the Moo, (Why not?), and ordered some 140lb Comp springs (Can't hurt) and a shim kit. What a tedious process this will be. Been many years since I changed springs on an assembled engine.

My bud is borrowing the boat this weekend to go fishing with a friend of his that's in from Cali, so maybe next week I can get this stuff done. His buddy is a Ford engine nut so maybe some more information will come to light.

Hmmm and i've spent a week trying to figure out if I can use my carpet cleaner to somehow clean the carpet in the moo boat, maybe it won't work. A lot of oil stains from the construction process, lol

Dunno if this helps, but the Moo boat will do that if I park it with the bow down below the transom. I have to lift it so the bow is higher, even in the garage, with full tank(s). Don't have flip tops, but sounds familiar. My fills are at the front of the fuel tanks which run clear to the transom, I figure it's just gravity, and with heat, expansion, pressure, well, you get the physics. Same thing happens with the Biesemeyer, with flip tops, but it gets stored on the side of the garage and the bow is down a little bit. I'll just never leave more than half a tank in it sitting there,I figure. Seems to be ok that way.

Aiight, Terry (hdriderth) and I are confirmed on this. If we get no more support, then we're gonna simply stay at Terry's and have a few days and launch near him. We're going on Mead, either way.

If we do get support, we're in for another Motel dealio and a few days from Echo bay. (Who came up with this anyway and why am I left to selling it?) I'll call and see what I can negotiate for rates if we have some interest (I can get the Corporate discount rate at least if need be). Lol no, never even saw one until 2sav's posts on the Carribean. My solution would be a piece of aluminum plate, a sawzall and a drill. But that's just me. Made a throttle shaft with a cordless drill, a vice, a grinder and a few files out of a nut driver back in the day, lol. (Long story, but it worked)

So far so good, Skip. Still haven't had an issue with the open headers, but I worry about it, Kinda hard to be under 86 DB with anything. Deeper sounds will fluctuate SPL meters more than higher frequency sounds, a known fact.

What's it mean? Our deep throated Big Blocks are at a serious disadvantage compared to the twin engine 2 cycle Rice Burners that are actually louder.

Honestly, though, I think that unless your driving like an ass, they'll leave you alone. At least I hope for now. 

My fear is this, and wanted to pass this on. Here's what it has come to. We've seen an extreme rash of government agencies visiting our stores and fining the piss outta them. What they are doing is generating income for Job Security, after recent rumours of severe Federal, State and Local layoffs. Weights and measures, OSHA, Fire Marshalls, Building Inspectors, etc etc etc. This is no sheit. We had a store on the west side fined $15000 for not having 2 store key lock boxes (for the police and fire) on the building (A new regulation (2008) on new construction, this store is 10 years old!) and "No building permit on file". We HAD A COPY OF IT, still, it wasn't filed by the city, and it's OUR FAULT!

They are being told to generate funding. I don't care what they say (They all deny it).

Makes sense. with 5-10% of homes in foreclosure, no property or school taxes being paid., unemployment higher than it's really ever been (If you count under employment). Those being paid from those taxes? Well, you do the imagining.
