Engines / Engine Parts For Sale / Re: Complete 460 ford
« on: April 04, 2015, 11:17:54 AM »
I have a complete 460 ford that I bought for a project but I'm going in a different direction.  It was running when pulled I don't know what's in it but it's probably a stocker.  Block #'s D1VE-A2A and the heads are D3VE-A2A.
$700 obo

are willing to trade for dirtbikes

53
Well I'm not 100% that it was but I do believe so just stock 460 pushrods

54
Now my plan of attack is let me know if this the right direction I'm going go to adjustable roller rocker set up and have the pushrods sized to fit

55
This was the 460 and it was the very first rocker I could tell right away when I took valve cover off that the spring look compressed further down then all rest through full rotation

56
Ok so I take off all the rockers and o now have compression in the cylinder

57
they are dry

58
Flat

59
554 intake 557 exhaust

60
570 lift I believe

61
Comp

62
I will be pulling motor down to see what's going on here

63
Yeah this whole motor is fresh brand new cam kit lifters springs used stock push rods and stock rockers

64
Come to find out bent a push rod and had water in cylinders put new one in cleaned out cylinders to put it around for Saturday. I get home make a few calls and to find out someone told me my headers allowed the cylinders to suck water in a I do run them wet and they are on a valve any other opinions on this also I now have no compression in number 1 cylinder and also if I was to run dry headers won't they get to hot and burn up my plug wires
