Lower River / 78 rogers project

Halfway through building this rig the way I want it. And getting anxious. Just ready for it to warm up and run this this thing. Here's the pics I have so far, I'll add to it as I go

I have cam already and it's a hydraulic roller, I'm using hydraulic lifters but. Keep hearing people say " oh man you should use solid lifters, I couldnt really see rpm being much higher than 6 grand

C and j engineering, bring him as much info about the motor as possible, even a build sheet if you have one on hand, don't just tell him it's a 454, he'll blow a gasket.. kinda grumpy but the best in the business

I was gunna ask like GT if you've switched tanks. My boat had all the same issues when I'd run off both tanks at the same time.
It would run for 2 minutes then start telling me to take my foot out of it. Then just dead.
After finding out my driver side tank had debris, I closed the valve mounted at my transom and ran exclusively on my passenger tank. Boat ran from water wheel to the Parker dam no issues💪🏼. I don't mean to add to the mess with more theories but are you sure your tanks switch if you've got the whole electrical setup?

« on: September 19, 2016, 10:08:36 AM »I would pull the bowls if you have water in the fuel you will see it then. Check floats and needle & seats. A video would help us help you.
2nd this .. I had an issue with the fittings at the top of my tanks that the fuel lines connect to clogging/ causing to starve for fuel . Apparently there's a little ball and spring in there that doesn't like old fuel debris.

I have long bassetts for sale if u want them. Realistically a little more hp but a whole lot louder. I changed mine out for some short tuner headers where the pipes are cut to the same length. I can't tell the difference but they LOOK better

Heading up Thursday night and home Tuesday. If you've never been to this part of the river follow someone who knows it.. If not the water flows fastest where its deepest.. I imagine they're letting plenty out though. Anyways if you see a blue n white Rogers stop by for a beer or 4.. Have fun!!

Imi hi torque starters in Whittier. Best money I've spent. Just touch the key and it starts. Make sure you bring the old one in. So they can easily match you up with a new one.
