so you're gonna run a -10 hose and fittings but drop all your NPT fittings down to 3/8"?  -10 has an ID of a little more than 1/2".  I have all 1/2" fittings... you might as well just save money and do -8 if you're gonna have a bunch of 3/8" bottlenecks.

so what happened that caused you to start doing leakdown tests, etc?  what are the actual numbers for each cyl?

Jet Pumps / Re: Bassett T

panther is a low pressure high volume pump unlike the berks... id skip the T and run a ball valve next to your seat to control your headers.

Are my exh logs supposed to be water tight??  Lol  I would think they should be but if I blow in one fitting and plug the other I can hear air escaping thru the front cap

Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats

what a lucky set of exhaust logs...    ^-^  my wife wont even do that for me anymore.

yes they sould be air/water tight.  on my riser i found a pinhole leak and poked it with a screwdriver a few times and it revealed a giant 1" hole.  that wouldve killed a weekend at the lake for sure.

hulls need to flex.  if you toss something in that rigid you're jsut gonna get cracks wherever the weakest point is at.

Somebody lit the palm trees?

And that pic was camp Pendleton.

Sent with my Fingers

there was a brush fire adn then because of the wind it spread to like ALL of the palm trees in the area because they have a lot of dead stuff hanging from them.  then when the firefighters would spray the fire on teh palm tree they would explode and all of the embers would float to the next tree and light that one on fire.  i tried to go around the fire but eventually ran out of options trying to get to work and ended up waiting in a parking lot until the spread was contained.

Hulls / Re: Replacing floor on boat.
« on: May 13, 2014, 10:54:08 AM »
marine grade plywood has better water resistance... that being said its also damn expensive.  i used 3/4 cabinet ply for mine with resin coated both sides, edges, etc. floors are gonna need to be replaced every so often anyways.

Now, if you were talking 21' day cruiser, you can keep the jet, I want a V drive in that bad-boy, also want a Turbohydromatic 400 and through transom exhaust...

my favorite boat was my dads ol 21 vdrive tarva.  blown motor with an art-carr t400 in it.

1st gear was for putting.  2nd for pulling.  3rd for WOT make your cheeks flap funtime.  Easy to get in/out of with the cav plates, plenty of room inside and under the bow for a big ice chest.  nice and deep and rode great.

I'd buy the boat if i could...
