We'll see, I doubt it. One can hope tho. Was actually hoping to get it running off the hose on Thursday tho. Still need some really stupid stuff, however. Can you beleive out of two boats with the same engine I can only find 4 water pump bolts? Noone ever heard of Ziplock Bags? lol. Gonna hit Tom up to see if he has any layin around. He's going to round up a goodie box for me, and I know it'll be the best deal on the west coast!

Got home from work and this is what I built:

Hose adapter, the ball valve, then two T's. First one for the Pressure releif Tom's sending ( I think), else I need to locate one, second is the water split for the engine. I want to run one side, Short side, through the oil cooler first, though.

Maybe I shouldn't, should run the O/B dump line from the intake through it first.

Did have this thought tho, some insight how my lil brain works, or doesn't, as the case may be. I always thought these things sucked from both tanks to keep somewhat of a weight balance. If you run one tank down to say, 1/4 or less then do you have to have the fat guy in the back move to the other side of the boat to keep it from flipping over? Might be even worse if the fat guy is the driver! :screwy:

Yeah, haven't removed the seats to see if both tanks have senders or not. Don't intend to either. Guess I'll find out when I fill the thing up.

OK, Fuel tank selector, check! Now to figure out which tank is which on the dash switch. The one with the sender or the one without, lol. Things keep getting interesting!

Thanks Guys!

So here's where it's at now. Not bad for a day and a half, really.

Still got to plump the thing, looking forward to a box of goodies from Tom, et al to start that, wire it, and plump/mount the remote filter assembly and Oil cooler assembly

As far as wiring, here's what it has..

and Had, (Took tons of pictures before I tore anything apart, but now I see the colors didn't come out good so STILL gonna be some guessing and tracing)

Ignition is last, and a place to mount it all, but here's what's going in..

Want to do front of engine cover/ beer holder like 2sav has on his 'Beaner, we're working on designing something, maybe carpeted for now, but will be a place to mount the Mallory msd unit and coil, possibly the oil filter housing as well. News at 11 on that

Anyone help me with this? World's smallest electric fuel pump? Don't see THAT feeding this thing! If anything, seems it would restrict the mechanical I'm gonna run for right now.

Also, there's GOT to be a better way to come off this tube from the JE pump. A Compression to AN fitting? I plan to run braided S/S lines eventually, might have to bite the bullet and do it now.

Out with the old, in with the new. Haven't yet torn into the old mill, but I'm sure I'm going to find a mess. Previous owner told me the new engine ran 20 minutes before BANG. Seems the builder and installer ran no sort of pressure releif nor o/b dump and all water ran through the new headers.

And in with the new!

Small problem with the new Milodon pan that I missed was the rod welded across under the old pan connecting the right and left motor mounts. I was concerned about cleqarance with the pan anyway, but when the engine sat on something with 3 inches left to drop, well, imagine my surprise!.

this was the culprit and the instrument of it's destruction!

We'll add in a new, custom crossover with it's own plates between the stringers this week. I don't see the need for it, myself, makes no sense from a physics standpoint, but what do I know?

Was a busy boy this weekend. With the help of a couple friends and my son, we made a ton of progress on the gathering of parts we collected for this. This is the 1978 Sleekcraft Rebel that became my second, now first, boat. Gotta get it wet so I can get the Saguaro back in the garage.

Here we were when we started, blown engine, mostly complete, though

Not my house, guy I bought it from. Notice he has a coffee, not a beer!

Then I finished up this for it last week.

This was the weekend to get it rolling! uploading pics so I'll post more in a few minutes of where I'm at

For a family boat, sounds like just the ticket! I know that is what I fully intended when I started this, or these, manageries, but they've taken a life of their own. I blame testosterone for over building what these things are about to become! :screwy:

Then again, there's no such thing as too much horsepower. That's why Budweiser has 8 Clydesdales when 2 would more than do the job, Same with Santa!
