You made the first rule, post pics, something I, on the other hand, just figured out how to do! (Shhhhh, GT, or I'll post them all upside down, lol

There's probably somewhere close to 200 years or so of collective experience with all aspects of these boats. Surf the threads, and ask questions.

What you have sounds pretty quick actually, but more is going to depend on what engine and jet drive you are using, upgrades, etc. The crew here will help you out! Just need more info. Can ALWAYS be faster, just a matter of cost VS gain.

I beleive you may be doing the right thing Steve. After my thread and phone calls wiith Tom, I checked out the Banderlog site, and it seems that thing uses a metering valve also, so I honestly fail to see any advantage other than it might eliminate the Ball and Springvalve in the header T is all.  But I'm only a day into my depth of knowledge on plumbing these things, what do I know?

Ok, thought I had a headache just getting home from work, now I REALLY got one, where's my beer? oh yeah, ok. I think I get it. No thermostat in the thermostat housing, right? stick with the dealio that's on the engine with three outlets on it, that way I dun need to take pipe plugs out of the Intake. Or use the flat one with 2 on it and remove a pipe plug so I can run AN fittings later. Run two straight to an over board dump (For which I will need to drill and install some sort of fitting). Then as insurance, run a Watts pressure releif valve after the gate or ball valve from the pump, to a second overboard dump, for which I need to drill yet another hole and install another of the same sort of fitting. Unless I put in 1 big some sort of fitting for all three hoses running out the back of the boat on it. then somewhere in the mess, probably between the gate valve and the releif valve put in a hose fitting for running off a hose.

Now to complicate things worse, ( I'm good at complications  ), a water cooled oil cooler plumbed in before the remote oil filters. I am going to assume I want to t off the incoming lake water, run one line directly into the one of the block fittings and the other through the cooler then into the other block fitting? Just a guess, but sounds reasonable. Or run one of the dump lines from the t-stat housing through the cooler?

Guys, this is actually starting to make sense in my lil brain, Tom, you able to get a parts list out of all that? lol

Anyway, '71 block, Ported police interceptor heads, Comp 292 extreme solid lifter cam, Roller rockers, screw it studs w/guideplates, TRW 2443 forged pistons, H-beam rods, Eddie Performer RPM intake and 750 Carb (will be replaced by Offy Tunnel and 2 750's if all works out ok for now, didn't want to sink EVERYTHING in 1 shot)

Here's what is on the boat, as far as a water outlet. haven't removed it to see if they ran a t-stat or not yet.

OK, where do you get an adjustable pressure valve for between the jet and engine, first off, and how much pressure should it be set at? This weekend should get the Moo running, HP 460 with Rewarder headers, still unsure about running a thermostat or not, but HELP! before I make a milkshake out of THIS engine too!

Very good responses. Honestly, I am at a loss on this one. I have 12 year old and 17 year old daughters. Dunno what I'd do. I know what I joke about, and have done, is clean machine guns when the 17 year old has a date pick her up. She hates me for that! As for what I'd do, I just dunno. Good advice from both of you.

I also have a 14 year old son, and given reversed roles, again, at a loss. Just have to love them and help them through this. That's what parenting is.

Recent events, not only in my personal life, but professionally and dealing with these boat rebuilds has caused me to step back and really look at things from a 10,000 foot level. Much like I had to do as a regional sales manager.

Wanted to try something on you guys that I used to train my District and Store managers with, and something I had to remind myself about. I think this may be good for many people.

Anyone know how geese fly?
