The No Wake Zone / Butt Juice.......
« on: April 25, 2008, 08:43:01 PM »
First of all, let me apologize in advance for the crass appearing subject of this post but rest assured, it's not what you think.

In anticipation of the annual fishing derby/beer fest/eat till you puke  event at some friends house tomorrow for the opening day of fishing season on the lakes, I went to the store to find the secret weapon of choice for tomorrow.
Let me tell you that NOBODY has marketing like the fishin bunch. There are more lures, line and shit that you can imagine.
I searched far and wide at the local Sportsman Warehouse before I found with is bound to be THE fishing accessory for tomorrow.

Yup, it's called Butt Juice......  Supposedly it's a attractint gel but all I know is if it's got a name like that, I'm buying it.

The checkout person tried to explain that it was not for trout fishing but for Halibut fishing.  After I thanked him for his concern I informed him that I didnt care if it's something I put on the roof of my house, with a name like Butt Juice, I'm buying it......

That phokin boat is a piece of art, SIK as all hell, and it will never be done until you're happy with it.

I gotta agree with Hotrod here, whatever is ultimately going to make you happy is the right choice. You've done fantastic job on that boat.

That looks really good. Keep it up.

PS.  Do me a favor and look into getting a respirator instead of that mask. I don't know what you are planning on spraying but what youre wearing prolly isnt helping much (though spraying outside certainly helps).

If you go with Urethanes, the fumes will phuck you up (don't ask me how I know).

Hmmm, that's a big boat to flip by cherry picker. I agree with everyone and say your best bet is to empty it out and use some old tires to cushion things and a whole bunch of bigboys.  Beer will certainly help draw them in.  Good luck and make sure you take some pictures.

By the way, why are you wanting to flip it?  I might be tempted to try to do your work with it right side up. More uncomfortable but might be worth a try

Appreciate it STC.  I've slowed way up but have been collecting some parts in the meantime and am anxious to get going again.  Good luck with your boat and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I made about every mistake a person could and would be glad to keep you from doing the same.

Yikes, I've done a bunch but have worked for the same place since 79. It's the largest Electric and Gas company in the state and I spent 20 years as a IBEW Union member working on crews and then got too fat and old and have since been in management. Now I've been a Manager for over 10 years and I keep pinching myself thinking, when are they gonna wake up and realize what a putz I am???

I'm right there with you Damon. I've got the goodies and need to get after mine now.  I would highly recommend that you talk to Tom or Josh at JBP but with that said, I would love to see your thread filled out as sometimes a picture is much more valuable. I know there's a number of the gang that have done these and I'm sure we could get a very good thread going.

Come on peeps, let's see how it done......john
