So I have really been wanting to put another boat together an was gonna build up the hornet for a RR boat but a guy I have delt with before has offered a trade for a day cruiser on a tandem which is perfect because I have everything to put it together. So I have the option of a 21 kona or a 21 Tahiti which of the two would be a better way to go? The brown being the Tahiti an the bottom being the kona. I'm kinda pulling to the kona

I generally find a lot of stuff searching "jet boat" a lot of decent stuff 3-5k for a first time boat and search "Berkeley"

Last time I pulled a plug wire off a distributor on a running motor I watched that dam thing arc almost a foot out onto the intake and shocked the sh!t outta me atleast 50 times before I could jump off the motor.

Electric fuel pump? Are you running a regulator or have a gauge to know what your fuel pressure is. I hade a similar problem but only would happen when idling for long periods of time but you could be flooding the motor till it dies and the carb is still dumping fuel into after it shuts down because of the high pressure coming from the electric pump. Put to much fuel into a hot motor with a good ammount of advanced timing and now she's firing off before TDC and fighting the starter.

So the kona is just about done and I have nothing else to do soooo I figured since I still have the hornet, a jg-a pump and aquired a good running 454 I have just about everything to put together a RR boat

For the first 3 months of my daughters life the only time she left the house was for pictures at 3 days old then every month and for her doctors visits. The first time I took her in the pool she was 7 months and she's been to lake perris how ever we didnt put her in the water and she still hasn't been on the boat. Probably gonna wait till next season before taking her on the boat which she will be about 2 then, she's only 8 months old right now. If I had a deep draft boat that I didn't have to worry about sinking an rode nicer than a semi v low pro jet and was quieter she probably would of been on the boat already. But I'm a pretty over protective and cautious guy.

Well I just so happen to have a spare boat laying around. If it stays i have everything short of a steering cable and gauges to put it together.

It's comments like that wiz that scare off guys with a low budget build boat that want to get into racing.

No one wants to hear their stuff is ugly in the pits, especially after hours of work and hundreds of dollars spent to get them there. Takes money to make money and last I checked most racers don't have full paid sponsorships from big name corps. It's all about getting in there and having a good time, and as more people do that more attention will be brought to the sport and help the growth of it.

So i take it the next race ill be seeing your fresh out the mold, brand new hardware no expense spared boat with a CJ or RR numbers painted on? 

I don't think so, maybe that's why the class isn't growing. Everyone is saving up to have a race boat like you expect?
