Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Idle rpm??
« on: May 17, 2011, 03:14:08 PM »
Mine is at a 1000 or around 1100 and it is fine. Just right I think. Your better off doing it when your pump is fully sumerge under a load. You don't want any water running thru the motor under 2000 rpm's I think. 180 is a little warm for a couple more horsepower. Mine runs around 120 to 130. I took my valve off, less worries IMO.

No Pat those are the 450's. That pic is right before I put yours on. But they look identical. I'll try to get a different pic up. I have the same set-up as shown in the pic, just with yours on now. Luv it. Thanks again for your time and help. Everything already dialed in just waiting for it to warm-up and for them to put water in the river.

Yeah I agree with Ralph on that too. Learned my lessons too many times trying too make something better, when nothing was wrong with it. Just run into bigger problems.

We had to get towed in by tug boats. Called chuiwawa and shitzsu and also the rotweiler. Sorry about my spelling. I guees we drifted about 150 miles so it took a day and a half to get towed into the San Diego port. DAMM I was glad to see land. Then they put us on a bus and sent us back to long beach. Put us in the hilton for the night and paid for for our dinner, breakfast and lunch. Then we made it home friday afternoon. They already reinburst me my money back and giving us a free cruise. They also paid for everyone sign in sail accounts too. So what ever you bought sunday on your card carnival paid for it. I think carnival did us well for the circumstances we were facing. Running out of time. I will get with you guys later.

Thanks guy's glad to be home to. Found the camera just haven't found the cord to upload anything yet. Sorry. Soon as I find it I will post some pics. So I guess I can give you guy's the story while you wait for some pic.
Quick story. Alright we left the port of Long Beach sunday night. Everything was cool sunday night, got to indulge in all the good eating on the lido deck, like frozen yougurt ice cream, pizza, hamburgers, desserts, everything you name we ate it. We'll glad me and my wife did because monday morning was a rude awakening.
I was just getting up around 5:00am in the morning to go for my run when the director of the ship got on the loud speaker talking about lots of smoke down in the engine room. Funny thing is that he never said there was a fire just lots and lots of smoke. Well where I come from where ever there is smoke there was or is a fire. Maybe to just keep people calm. lol. That led to no electricity and no water. I walked out of my cabin, and their were people stuck in elevators, people throwing up, baby's crying, aw man it was a nightmare. Where we were at on the ship there wasn't that much smoke.
Took about half the day for the ship to get 80% of the smoke cleared. They finally told us the cruise was canceled by the end of the day. First day know one had water. No flushing toilets or taking showers. Had no electricity the whole four days we were out there. Damm it sucked at night. Tuesday we finally got water to flush toilets and shower. Cold showers sucked. The food was okay till after the second day. Couldn't eat any more salads and sandwhichs, and continental breakfast stuff. The kaos and the lines, just to eat was unbelievable. Damm it sucked. It look like battle ships out there once every one started to show. I got to see the Ronald Regan. The coast guard flew in 60 pallets of food, water.
