Opened up the Cottage this w/e. Turned the water on and NO LEAKS!!! Neighbor forgot to add anti-freeze to his crapper so it froze/broke and he flooded his bathroom. If you live in a NO freeze Area you have no Idea how much work it is to deal with winter below freezing temps. So many cheap boats around here needing engines cause most people don't know how to properly winterize there first boats and crack there blocks/exhaust logs. I totally redid my cottage water system and added on over the years so even tho it has a full bathroom compete with shower on the first floor and a 1/2 bath on the second floor with a out door shower and a full kitchen (working on the full bar) I can winterize the whole place in less then 20 minutes (Most time waiting on hot water tank to drain) and turn it on in the spring in less then 10 with NO LEAKS!!,, I'm pretty happy about that..  

The river was/is about 6 feet above summers normal low with lots of debris and coffee colored so we only saw 2 boats all w/e. One was a Baja i/o about a 22 footer (sounded like a BB) that was in water that was about 3 foot deep with rocks about 4 miles above the end of Navigational part of the river and they where idling down river so I'm guessing he already realized he should not be where he was with what he had,  . I have watched people do this before.

The other Boat was great to hear coming down the river and see it was our great friends Deb And Kip in there Rogue, They stopped and asked if we wanted to go out boating but with the river conditions so bad I suggested we drink beer on the porch and watch the logs go by, So We Did.. .

Some lake lovers can't believe us River people put up with the dangers and changing condition that multiply the dangers that rivers have but I think that's most it's charm, I love it when it's at it summers low and warm and inviting to when it's at it's deadliest churning a mixture of ice,rocks,gravel,tree's,docks,boats, camps,r'v's ,cars, trucks and houses ( All i have seen go down the river over the years) It is what makes it so interesting.

Want to use Kiln dried fir, NO NOT USE PRESSURE TREATED WOOD!!! Epoxies or fiberglass resins don't stick well or long on PT Wood. I found that Busy Beaver's 1/2 Sanded Plywood was the best quality around but I'm in Pa.

I put my stringers/floor in http://www.socaljetboats.com/projects/baja-184-ss/ , Working on installing engine now, Was not difficult. Read and asking questions worked for me, Also search "Stringer repair replacing" on google and u-tube and with this sites info you can do it to.

Yeah, he's running a JE Nordie. Putting it back in is pretty much a 1 shot/forever deal.

I'm not sure those tie down hooks would hold, myself, but obviously you're holding the boat up with 2 of them. Maybe come-a-longs on each of them and raise one/lower the other til it flips. keeps the weight on both of them to a point, but should be able to see trouble before it gets real ugly if its gonna.  I dunno, just thinking out loud again.

I tried Finney and still haven't gotten an answer from them... Are they reliable?

I E-Mailed them twice AND Called and left a message twice, No reply, Did all this in about a 3 week period thinking maybe a business vacation or problem. No reply, Figured they went out of business, had to much business or for some reason did not want my business?? I don't know .. No. For one I'd have to know the person very well and then I still don't like putting used engine parts in a engine I plan on keeping and using in a harsh marine application unless I seen what it came out of and how and why it was taken out. I'd rather spend the money first then the double time and money fixing it later.     Roy.
