Pattern? what is this pattern you speek of?  My dad gets mad at me all the time cause I don't pattern anything, all the rough measurments are in my head, I never want any two things to look exactly the same (the exception being pairs and multiples in one application).  I'll tell ya another great thing about the brace is it really squeezes the pod up against the housing making a very nice seal.  Perhaps my dad will post up the picture, when he gets back, of me jumping up and down on the end of the bowl

You do that to me on purpose dont you Josh? It seems to me to be the perfect solution to what is percieved to some as a potential weak spot.  Great minds think alike huh........

That does it! Tommy, you've gone too far this time and I'm calling my attorney.  Here I've been drawing up a sketch of a stringer mount to support the Panther and what do I find in the above picture but a exact copy of what I was thinking.  Clearly this has got to be a violation of sumthin.   

Looking really good Tommy.  Keep a pattern of that thing and you can make me one too. I was going to use a couple pillow blocks to mount it to the stringer rails I'm going to be putting in.

Okay, I've modified the layout a dozen times and as much as I've tried, I haven't knocked this one off the top of the list.

Yah, you gotta squint a bunch but hopefully you'll get what I'm thinking.

12 days till the spraying begins.......................

Well, many large dairy and horse farms were flooded.  The water came up so fast that they didnt have anywhere to go. Dead cattle, horses, pigs, etc.... You kinda get the picture..... I dont even like watching the news anymore. The quantity is so great that the health department doesnt want them burying anymore because of health concerns. 

 

Picked up my paint yesterday.  Colors are Bright Red, Pure White and Viper Blue Metallic Pearl.  Also all the fixings to make 4 gallons of ready to spray clear....

Put in for time off between Xmas and Newyears to get this done........

I'll prolly get reamed for this but I've drilled them out a little bit bigger so I get fresh clean wood and then did the resin soaked dowels routine followed by the necessary finish glassing.

Quick correction after I talked to some folks. You don't put your pinstriping on before you blow your clear on. You put a couple coats of clear on and let that set up and then wet sand it, lay on your pinstriping (this allows you to wipe off the stripe and start over if you screw up) and then blow 2 to 3 more coats of clear over everything to bed in the stripes...

Thanks Greg.  As folks alot younger than me say, I'm stoked!  Couldn't be any happier. Sprayed one more batch of really thick 2K (mp182 this time) and blocked it out.

Pushed it outside now and am putting away all the sanding and painting supplies that I don't plan on having to use again anytime soon.

Now it's time to scrub the garage up.........yuk

Okay Rebel. You've tipped everybody off that you've painted before. Hop the phuckin ferry and get your butt down here to finish this thing off.   

I'm planning on shooting a white epoxy as a sealer, then followed with a couple coats of white base. After that, I'll then start laying out the lines and shoot the red next and then cover everthing up and shoot some blue.  I added a wrinkle today by buying my wife a 00 brush and directions to practice up laying out some lines. She's really gifted in the artsy stuff and I'm thinking could stripe the colors before I shoot the clear. It would be really cool if she can pull it off. If she can't oh well, the whole damn boat will probably look like a disaster anyhow so whats to lose?

On a side note, I've blocked this thing till I'm blue in the face and it looks really good.  Given that the blue might show any flaws I layed 2 more wet coats of 2k this morning and am going to block that out to make sure I've got everything.  Next step is the final masking of the floor and bottom and the construction of a temp paint booth inside the shop..  Stay tuned
