Boat Showcase / Re: Lexan splash guard
« on: June 14, 2011, 07:30:55 PM »
Without sounding rude, can I ask what the purpose of the splash guard is? Is it to keep water from coming over the transom when letting off the gas or something? I don't know on your boat, but if I had that thing installed on my Rogers I wouldn't be able to get to the water filter, msd box or diverter pump which are all located on the inside of the transom.

Without one on mine, I'd have undoubtedly sunk it a few times now......... :screwy:

Most boats, like Moo, have a lot more free board, (Hull sticking out of the water on the back half) and the design on the transom gets it up and over your own wake if you lift and stop. Never had a problem with water over the transom or sides if you spin out or lift, etc.

Pickle? Forget it! Wakes from wakeboard boats, stopping suddenly or stalling, and my own stupidity have almost swamped it a few times as it is! That splashguard is a life saver on that thing!  I also see why this thing has 2 bilge pumps! They are only mounted to the inside edge of the gunnels/transom, should still have access to all the stuff on your transom.

The No Wake Zone / Angybody ever have to bail a dog out????
« on: June 12, 2011, 07:45:23 AM »
I'm thinking its gonna come to that........I was chatting with my mom on Skype out on the patio earlier this morning, and she asked "what are the dogs after"  Apparently, she saw them trying to basically cut down one of my smaller orange trees through the reflection in the patio door..........

Bear in mind these are "grand champion" bred bird dogs that cant find a bird even if it left a forwarding address........

According to my neighbor, these are Cactus Wren eggs........not Pidgeon or dove as I assumed..........Soooo the dogs could be"arrested" as could I as their owner for messing with them.........

GREAT! Now my backyard is a preserve? what?  I just knew when I woke up this morning it was gonna be a fugged up day.......... :banghead:

Jet Pumps / Re: Tube'n problem
« on: June 11, 2011, 10:45:32 PM »
Well, I took the kids tube'n for the first time this year, and it went pretty well. The boat pulls well, and has a nice wake. I did spray one kid with the diverter a little bit, but he cried, and wouldn't talk for a while, so I will likely only do that to adults from now on. Only bad thing that happened was the entire 75 foot rope got sucked into the pump while ideling, and took about an hour to cut it all out through the hand hole. Now I have a whole bunch of 6 inch to 12 inch pieces of ski rope! Anybody else ever do this???

LMFAOOOOO "I'll likely only do that to adults now"

Gawd I'm rolling here. But yeah, we've I think pulled some unique things from jet pumps.......I think It was Ralph that pulled the used diaper out no? .........

It just hapens.......Not gonna get into the "roost" drive bys that I have done, and well, Nordie has as well......kid was right to cry.....it HURTS!!!!!!!  Almost threw me out of the boat!  N8.....we're even.........lol!

OK Ray here's what I'm thinking now.  Send me that 514 and I'll make it look good in the Spectra. And then you will have the perfect daycruiser and a nice newly unemployed 460 to install with it, plus a bunch of mix n match 455 parts.  I know how you like da Big Ass Boats and mine would be so nice with a nice stock reliable Harmon Marine 460.
C'mon now, you know you want to.   I know the girls say size don't matter, but we know that's b.s.

Speaking of which....and at the risk of repeating myself.......wheres the pics of the wifes new bikini?

That's gonna get ya further to scoring this engine than anything................. :sly:

Because if this thing has to come apart, first it is coming out of the boat.  At the same time I want a new one to go back in with no down time.  And if a newly massaged .60 over hipo cammed Olds won't give me the performance I want then I will start working on a motor program for the Spectra.
And don't you dare send me any links to anymore Pontiac or Mopar stuff cuz I really get sidetracked easily.  If any of my Mopar stuff was still in Cali instead of Utah . . .  I wonder how a set of 3 two barrels feeding a 505 cubic inch monster Mopar would run in a daycruiser.  Maybe throw on a Magnacharger just for that extra 150 horses.   Nah that would be crazy  :screwy:

LOL, Just so happens I have a running Olds kinda sidelined here. I've been threatening to throw the 514 Ford from the garage in it if the pump don't get here quick.........

LMFAO, John, that's why I love ya! Jeezuz it's nice to have teachers around......

Be VERY careful on the replacement pistons........Old Speed Pros are not always the same as NEW Speed Pro's............Found this out the hard way on Moo 1.0. But the 2323F is a flattop piston that SHOULD give you around 10:1 compression with a J head. A little more with a K.

Why are we worried about pistons and crap though?   A few spun bearings, maybe you have, I doubt any more than that is unsalveageable. Now if you REALLY wanna hot rod it while your at it.....well that's a different matter. I wont tell...........shhhhhhhhhh!

And I want pics of your wife in the 'kini......To hell with good faith and all that.........lmao!

"I oppose any regulations to power boating on existing open waterways!"  was my response to almost all questions.

I think we need to make a trip to Montana with a handfull of 500hp boats to run in their 20hp regulated areas.  >:D

My response involved a LITTLE more colorful language, but we got your backs guys!

I'm going to Montana in Late July....... friend up there with an Eliminator and a fresh 496......Moo 2.0 should be done by then......why not?
