in my gallery I have pictures of my old boat... I'm not sure he's got the right guy with the over-the-top boat... I just have a waterskiing direct  drive towboat now. Had an 18' Caribbean before that. Nothing too special, just a Gen V 454 all prettied up, with a nice little bump to it.

After much scribbling on the boat and finally getting Jan out there in the scooter stool, we ended up with this. I love it and it's exactly what I had in my head. I just couldn't draw it (how come women are so good at that artsy fartsy stuff?).

I admit, you gotta squint but you get the idea. You can still see the straight line I drew from the back corner at an angle to check symetry (sp?) and she nailed it!



Undone, I know what you mean. This stuff is too expensive to buy extra but it's hard to figure out how much you "need".  Your boat turned out stinking awesome. I'm thinking you know alot more than "next to nothing"....

I've got a roll of tracing paper and will tape it on the side of the boat and trace the line out. That way I can reconstruct this when I'm ready to spray and make sure each side matches......  Stay tuned and thanks again for the words of encouragement and watching this disaster come together.....john

When I painted my old 76 F250 black, just the paint and clear cost me close to $800.... Not to mention the $13k in the engine compartment.....

Yup, sounds about right. When you add all the sealers, epoxy's, 2K surfacers, fillers, cleaners and sandpaper, this is not a cheap project.  I've started to price some of the paints and it's scary.
1 gallon of PPG Basecoat in white is about $350.  In a color like red or blue its about $550.    Gulp!!!  Thant's not even including the clear......

I would buy extra, you could always use it on other stuff down the road!

I would stick with a paint code off of cars or trucks. That way when you need to touch it up from now you can get it easily.

Yep, a little extra is fine but given the price of this stuff, I don't want to end up with LOTS extra....

Yep, Droppys is incredible as is a number of the gangs boats up here. They all set the bar really high. 

That's too cool about the road trip. Just dont get in a wreck when you're towing it home cuz you're looking in the rear view mirror all the time........
