That would be REALLY cool if you guys came...you guys and your stories were one of the major motivating factors behind this boat...several who have helped me with this boat said it was an honor to be a part of a boat that has so much history.

For those of you who don't know, Craig and Tom are good friends who used to race this boat back in the early 70s. Craig drove, Tom was part of the crew. There is a thread over on hotboat here that I created trying to find some history on the boat and was able to get in touch with Craig and Tom and they share some awesome pictures and stories of this boat.

The boat has beaten me up and taken a lot of my time in the past month.

Here is a short timeline:

Early 70's


How I found it a year ago in Rod's backyard when it was on death row bound for the dump




It was only a month ago that bob and omar came over to flip it upside down so I could sand the bottom


finished sanding it 2 weeks ago....


even had the woman out there helpin...


it was only a week and a half ago that we started assembling this boat...yes, that means in 2 weeks time, we have assembled this boat and it will be ready to run...ready to race in 3 weeks total....all while maintaining day jobs. 




This boat will be competing in the Nostalgia Jet class at Parker during Thanksgiving weekend.

Again, I want to thank everyone who has contributed...without these people, this project could not happen..

Its close to being, but its been a long haul to get to this point. CJ712 will live again.

Seeing this makes me want to get out and get the Fantasy done, You guy's did a KILLER job on that boat and having a boat with that history is just Bitchen.

What time are you planning on trying to launch?

I'm trying to arrange to get out there, I'll let you know 

2 hours towing the boat is a little out of range for this weekend... Just paid my medical bills from the time when we met at the lake and Bob commented on how I looked as if I was dying. that being sick shit took a BIG hit on my wallet, not to mention I lost 20 pounds and missed a week of work.

Are any of you guys going to be bringing kids?  I told mine that they could come but that they would have to go below deck when Chromey breaks out the pics of the honeymoon

Hey Brad, when in the process did you find out it was the Raspberry, or did you know when you bought it?

i didnt know until after i bought it. I noticed the markings on the bow where the driver's, crew, owner's names were painted under the black crap....posted it up over on hotboat and i guess someone made a few calls and next thing ya know, the original owner signs up on hotboat and starts pluggin away at all those stories.

its getting there....i was out cutting/drilling aluminum last night and got a complaint from a neighbor....i was on a roll knockin things out and lost track of time...it was past 11 ...oops!

I wanna see it run....... are you still a go for Sunday??
